Well, we visited on a sunny Saturday to celebrate my birthday. I think we must have sat in someone's seats, as the friendly welcome mentioned was missing on this day. In fact, we rather felt like it was all too much trouble... perhaps we picked a bad day (we all have them). But we watched tourist after tourist arrive and... More

Inside this pub is fascinating as it's so old. The fireplace is huge and it's got a warm smugglers inn feel to it. The real ales are tasty. It's not on the cheap side. We had a couple of meals and a couple of pints each and it came to £35, but the meals are HUGE! The vegetarian dish was... More

Nice traditional pub atmosphere. Friendly locals at the bar, good selection of beers and a fantastic open fire. We will visit again.

We weren't sure if we should eat in here as it had the proper "pub" look, We were wrong, the staff were friendly, the food was served quickly and the prices were right! I had the tasty beef and guiness pie, it came with chips, peas and carrots and lots of thick gravy. My husband had curry and chips, he... More

Guiness is not my thing I guess, but their Ale's of the blond sort were outstanding. I saved by Scotch time for 3pm daily back at the Panorama Hotel with the Owners Da!

Had a lovely Roast beef lunch one of the best we have had for ages. Really friendly staff and good service. Homely atmosphere with a big roaring fire too.
