Quirkly little beach pub

This pub is laid back and relaxed. We came in for a couple of drinks on a Saturday night and the pub although busy wasn't rammed and it had a good atmosphere and vibe. The wooden benches by the side door are made comfy with an excess of pillows and there is so much to see on the walls, kids... read more

We had a family evening meal here - the place was very busy, but friendly & cheery! We managed to get a big table in a separate dining room, and had good service - but the food was variable in quality, some freshly cooked & presented, some had obviously been left sitting around in a warmer after cooking - the... Best pub in town. Spend many, many afternoons whiling away time with friends, family and wife while sipping a nice cool cider on the little terrace, just watching the world go by. What more do you want after a day in the sun. Equally good on a stormy November evening, to cwtch up inside with good food and a pint... More

We booed for supper and were glad that we did - the place was heaving all evening! We shared a seafood combo with extra chips and my husband had seabass. All were superb! Such was the quality of the fish that our fussy eater son tried his first jumbo prawn and loved it. Result!!!! Salad was fab and the chips... More

Food took about 1 hour to arrive. When it arrived was so disappointing. Burnt chips. Cutlery was dirty. My daughters spag Bol had quite obviously just been heated up as the food splatter was all over the bowl. Then my poor daughter had a really bad stomach afterwards which ruined the rest of our afternoon. Not happy at all.

We visited the Hope & Anchor several times during our stay, sometimes to eat and sometimes just for a drink. This is a very friendly pub frequented by both locals and holidaymakers with a great selection of real ales and good food. If I lived in Tenby I would definitely make this my local.

The fish combo was very nice, plenty for 2, and my friends sea bass was amazing. The food was freshly cooked, well presented and the service was to a high standard. Maybe the tables could be cleaned more frequently but that is nit picking. Well worthwhile visiting.

Visited on a typically windy wet summer afternoon in Tenby. My partner and I and my sister in law and her husband all went in for lunch, we walked through the bar up into the dining area at the back but quickly chose to move back to the bar area as it was too cold and unheated up there. We... More

Saturday evening so very busy but they found us a table upstairs. 10 of us...a bit squashed but the service was good, waitresses friendly and there was a big choice of dishes on the menu plus a specials board and kids menu. Portions were big and we all enjoyed our food except one of our party who had fish that... More

Recommended to visit by friends whilst in Tenby, we booked a table as it always seemed busy when passing. In the daytime lots of chairs and tables are on the pavement, in the evening there's a beer garden to the side with heaters for cooler evenings. Hubby and daughter had the fish combo which they enjoyed. My lasagne came and... More
