Lovely meal and great atmosphere

Although I said I didn't think I'd visit again, decided to give the Hope & Anchor another try. This time wasn't in school holidays and we went in the evening, so no rowdy toddlers. Service was quick and friendly - portions are enormous and such good value. Thoroughly enjoyed our Scampi and the... read more

Went with my wife and daughter for an evening meal. Exterior looks cheerfully chaotic and amateur, (often a good sign ). It was busy inside, and this on a wet Monday in March. (Another good sign). A cheerful wood fire, smiling, welcoming staff and a large range of draught ales and a cider. The atmosphere was "proper pub" with a... More

We were in the area for a few days staying in a hotel near Pembroke, whose restaurant, despite being located 2 miles from the sea, spectacularly failed to produce any seafood on the menu. We decided to look elsewhere for seafood in Tenby on our final night and came accross the Hope & Anchor located down a street towards the... More

Having passed by this place on several occasions I have always fancied it and this was the day we actually gave it a try. On entering the pub it is very traditional and had a warm feeling. We visited at a very busy time and only just managed to get a table, and being our luck we managed to have... More

Excellent crab sandwiches with real bread...none of the usual processed stuff here. Six local and west country real ales on the bar. Enjoyed the Funnel Blower Porter from Wiltshire's Box Steam Brewery. Had a quick one in the evening (Bath Ales Barnsey) before dinner at the lovely Plantagenet (see separate review)....a darts match in progress, great feeling of being a... More

A lovely lunch on a cold February day at the Hope and Anchor. Mussels were amazing with fresh granary bread. Fresh crab sandwiches very good however a bit sparing on the white meat. All washed down with a cold glass of cider. Excellent value for money. Well worth a visit. Super time of year in Tenby.

We stayed in Tenby over the New Year period with friends who have a property in Tenby. We made several visits to this watering hole and was bot disappointed by the vibe or the beer! Top pub!

What a cracking pub. Felt like a real locals pub and friendly with it. Great selection of real ales, roaring fire and just a stones throw from the harbour. Wish I could of stayed longer

We had mussels and prawn Thai curry , both lovely, honest, and fresh . A proper pub with a lovely warmness and good beer and food, lovely outside area for summer , but it was too cold today !
