Description: Welcome to Thomas Carr @ The Olive Room Here at the Olive Room, quality...
Welcome to Thomas Carr @ The Olive Room Here at the Olive Room, quality and comfort are paramount. We believe that excellent food is enjoyed most, in a relaxed and unpretentious environment. We are incredibly lucky to live and work in such a beautiful area, and we take full advantage of our location! Sourcing the very best in local, seasonal ingredients, and making the most of the abundance North Devon has to offer. All our food is homemade here on the premises, from the bread, to the ice creams and sorbets. A combination of the very best local produce, and skilled craftsmanship in the kitchen results in a thoughtfully prepared, contemporary British Menu. With strong North Devonian influences, we present mouth-watering dishes that are as pleasing on the palette as they are on the eye. We have a fantastic, comprehensive wine list, offering an excellent variety at great value. Our feature wines change with the seasons, accompanying our menu to perfection. Friendly, attentive service, complements our warm, intimate, environment. So if you're looking for somewhere to dine with friends, a romantic dinner for two, or perhaps a family celebration, look no further. We look forward to welcoming you

We looked at going here for a while but always finished up going somewhere else, however we took our Granddaughters as a treat. The welcome was warm, the food out of this world, the service excellent and the atmosphere relaxing without any pressure

This is a great little restaurant; an intimate atmosphere; friendly, relaxed service; and, above all superb food. I went with my wife and four friends and chose from the midweek set price menu; three choices for each course for just £19.00. I chose the novel duck egg starter, smoked duck breast with an egg on a little stack of chips;... More

I made a booking for a table of 14, and was asked to pre-order (no problems) but when I finally received the menu (the day before they wanted the order) we had a choice of 3 x starters all priced at £9.00, 3 x mains all priced at £20.00 and 3 x puddings all priced at £7.00 - very disappointed... Dear Sarah I am afraid to say that the content of your review is both completely unjust, and largely untrue. We accepted your booking, made at the end of last week, not much notice for a party of this size, we have other hen parties booked in for the coming year, who generally seem to book much further in advance.... When it comes to food, Ilfracombe punches way above it's weight, and Thomas Carr @ The Olive Room is the reigning champion. My partner and I are total foodies, and this is our current favourite restaurant. Whenever we know we'll be down here the first thing we do is book a table. If we're here for the weekend, sometimes we'll... More

Visited with family for Mothers Day and was both the food and service was brilliant! The smoked duck starter was bursting with flavours and the Bream and squid accompanied by a saffron selfish sauce literally melted in my mouth. My husband who had the lamb was also very impressed, adding that it was cooked to perfection. Our 5 year old... More

Celebrated my birthday here at the weekend and was not disappointed, Thomas Carr is a very talented chef who produces a range of wonderfully amazing food that tastes delicious and yet has a very unique twist to what is served on the plate. The Hake starter with warmed tartar sauce was wonderful and the beef main meal was just awesome.... More
