Description: Welcome to Thomas Carr @ The Olive Room Here at the Olive Room, quality...
Welcome to Thomas Carr @ The Olive Room Here at the Olive Room, quality and comfort are paramount. We believe that excellent food is enjoyed most, in a relaxed and unpretentious environment. We are incredibly lucky to live and work in such a beautiful area, and we take full advantage of our location! Sourcing the very best in local, seasonal ingredients, and making the most of the abundance North Devon has to offer. All our food is homemade here on the premises, from the bread, to the ice creams and sorbets. A combination of the very best local produce, and skilled craftsmanship in the kitchen results in a thoughtfully prepared, contemporary British Menu. With strong North Devonian influences, we present mouth-watering dishes that are as pleasing on the palette as they are on the eye. We have a fantastic, comprehensive wine list, offering an excellent variety at great value. Our feature wines change with the seasons, accompanying our menu to perfection. Friendly, attentive service, complements our warm, intimate, environment. So if you're looking for somewhere to dine with friends, a romantic dinner for two, or perhaps a family celebration, look no further. We look forward to welcoming you

The service was great, friendly and more than accomodating. We had to change our booking a couple of times with part of the family eating on Friday and part on Saturday. We loved the relaxed cosy atmosphere and chatty staff. We had viewed the sample menu on the website so had a good idea of what to expect. As with... More

We enjoyed a three course dinner under the banner of the 2015 Exmoor Food Festival. Thomas Carr - who recently took over the restaurant - has created a tempting, simple menu that offers great value and showcases his restaurant well. The service was delightful and every dish was beautifully presented with an attention to detail seen only in the best... More

Really top class food, freshly prepared and very imaginatively presented. Well worth experiencing and very sensibly priced. I liked the Lundy fish on the menu.

My mum and I experienced a five-dish taster menu at The Olive Room last week, and I still haven't stopped raving about it. Every course was exquisite, from the flavour combinations to the presentation, which really was like a work of art. Nothing was pretentious about this place, just great service and great food from an incredible chef. If you're... More

I went to the olive room in ilfracombe to celebrate a friends birthday. The flavour and presentation of our food was extremely good. The menu is small and well thought out, and the prices are reasonable for such high quality food. I honestly think this place should be considered for a Michelin star . The service was low key but... I went here yesterday evening to sample the tasting menu. I don't know what I was expecting but it certainly wasn't what I received. The food was incredible! From the imaginative combination of ingredients and flavours, to the wonderfully artistic presentation, the whole experience is one that I shall remember for a long time. I have eaten at some top...
