Delicious fish 'n' chips on the seafront

You must try the seafood platter - scampi, scallops & breaded plaice with hot chips & mushy peas....bliss!

I'm not usually a big fan of chip shop chips, but these were fantastic, everything down to the gravy was really tasty, a very affordable, quick meal. Only downside was, the place could have done with the floors being kept a little clearer of dropped food.

We had good memories of this restaurant, and it's been great in the past. This time, we were asked to sit and wait, and nobody came. The staff were gathered around the frying/service area, and there was at least one young person who could have served us. She didn't serve us inside fifteen minutes, so we walked out. We would... I refuse to go anywhere else in Ilfracombe for fish and chips - the best by far, the staff are always friendly and welcoming, service is always fast and efficient and the staff look professional and clean. The food is good portions and always delicious. Can't fault the place, not the first time and wont be the last time I... More

Had Special here today, fish chips peas & tea, really good meal as I don't usually eat cod, but I was impressed. Only downside to the place, was a flashing light above my head, which as a migraine sufferer was not appreciated, otherwise it was very good, get your lights fixed if you value the customer

Had to wait 15 mins for chips to take away. Staff rude and un welcoming complete nightmare. Food when we eventually got it not up to much. This establishment has gone down hill in the last two years since I visited. Such a shame it had real potential.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry you were not happy with the service you received, and had a longer than average wait for your food. We do cook all our food fresh to order and this can cause some delays. All our staff have received customer service training and I am surprised you found them rude and unwelcoming,... More

Needed some F&C for our first night stay in Ilfracombe and plumped on the Fryer. It is a large establishment, with a sit down restaurant, take away and a pizza joint too. The food, when i got it home, was great, lush chips, great fish, batter crispy, over salted (my fault i'm sure), but all good. The only issue i... More

Very clean and tidy. Food was plentiful and of a good quality. Service was very good. Always busy, will have to try the pizzas next time.

Myself & 4 teenagers were camping elsewhere but had a day trip to Ilfracombe & stopped here for a couple of medium chips to have with our sandwiches for lunch. Very likeable service in the chippy, good chips and we even shared our first Fried Mars Bar - an absolute bargain at 90p!! Would recommend it for good service, decent... More

Lovely fish and chips on the seafront. It was a decent sized portion too. The service was very efficient despite being busy we didn't have to wait long to be served. There are seats inside or plenty of benches outside if you want to take away.
