Great fish and chips by the sea

Prompt service by polite helpful staff. Reasonable prices and tasty food. Ideally situated near the sea front and play area. Take away also available, tho we ate in. Restaurant very clean. Loved that the cutlery on the tables was stored in plastic beach buckets.

This was not quite the worst fish and chips I have ever had but it came close. The batter was soggy and in fact raw in parts - when I told the owner, she said "That shouldn't have happened" and I said "No, it shouldn't" and that was the end of the conversation. No suggestion of knocking anything off the... More

Thank you for your recent review, may we first apologise for the service and quality of product you received. The owner of the shop, who is present every day, is actually male, so we are a little unsure to whom you spoke. All our staff have undertaken training in customer service, and the response you received was inappropriate. We aim... More

Good value fish and chips, huge portions, friendly staff and clean suroundings. My only 'compliant' was that the portion was too big but my husband valiantly cleared my plate for me! Would go back any time we're in Ilfracombe.

We had the set menu of Fish (Cod or Haddock), chips, Mushy peas and pot of tea for £7.60 per person. Food was freshly cooked, batter crisp and golden and due to the generous portions, we were full for the rest of the day!
