We paid a visit to this Fish and Chip shop and had a great meal, out of all the Fish and Chip shops I've eaten in, this is easily the best. Definitely worth trying, though if you Take away, watch for the Gulls.

Whilst here on holiday we thought it would be nice to call in for fish and chips. We were shown to a table but waited for over 15 minutes to be served so we opted for take out instead.. There were plenty of staff working but they were too busy talking about their footwear and social lives to serve customers..we... More

We dropped in at the Fryer on a friend's recommendation, which was spot on. There is a good choice of fish cooked fresh if you're in the restaurant and the chips are hand cut, crunchy and plain delicious! They also serve enormous kid's portions to the extent that said friend ended up helping the kids out eating their meals! Service... More

We chose the Fryer after looking at reviews and scoping out a few places beforehand. We decided to get 2 large fish and chips to takeaway and sit on one of the sea front benches nearby. The cost of around £13 (I forget exactly) was excellent value for a seaside town (our local city centre place is £11). The service... More

9 0Go there quite often for dinner - absolutely amazing!! You do have to wait for the food but it's well worth it! Prices are not too bad and the food is just great with large portions. Staff are also super friendly.

Whilst staying in Ilfracombe for a few day my partner and I decided to visit one of the local restaurants for our lunch. My partner ordered haddock and chips but, because I was having fish for my evening meal, decided to try cheeseburger and chips, which as a rule I rarely eat. When our meals came up both looked delicious... More

Excellent fish and chips! The fish was so huge that it hung off the plate on both sides! The batter was feather light and crispy and the fish was cooked perfectly accompanied by a mound of hand cut chips. Service was good and the tables were all clean. Good value for money.

Excellent food served by friendly staff. My Wife had the Haddock special and she said it was one of the tastiest pieces of fish she had had in a while. Chips were cooked well and the restaurant was pleasant.

Enjoyed my fish and chips. At £5.80 it should be good !! The ilfracombe fryer is situated along the main seafront and has a sit down area to eat and a take away area too. It was only open until then from 5pm - 8pm , so we had too come back to get our chips. I cant believe chip... More
