9 0Go there quite often for dinner - absolutely amazing!! You do have to wait for the food but it's well worth it! Prices are not too bad and the food is just great with large portions. Staff are also super friendly.

Whilst staying in Ilfracombe for a few day my partner and I decided to visit one of the local restaurants for our lunch. My partner ordered haddock and chips but, because I was having fish for my evening meal, decided to try cheeseburger and chips, which as a rule I rarely eat. When our meals came up both looked delicious... More

Excellent fish and chips! The fish was so huge that it hung off the plate on both sides! The batter was feather light and crispy and the fish was cooked perfectly accompanied by a mound of hand cut chips. Service was good and the tables were all clean. Good value for money.

Excellent food served by friendly staff. My Wife had the Haddock special and she said it was one of the tastiest pieces of fish she had had in a while. Chips were cooked well and the restaurant was pleasant.

Four of us bought different types of fish and chips to eat outside. We all thought the fish delicious and particularly enjoyed the light crunchy batter. The chips melted in the mouth and, unusually, we all finished our generous portions. Fish and chips as they should be.

We visited the Ilfracombe Fryer several times during our stay and the quality or quantity never varied. The staff were friendly and service was reasonably quick, even one evening when they were catering for a large party. The tables were clean and the place was nice and pleasant with great views across to the sea. Well use of mirrors meant... More

After looking on line for the best fish & chips in North Devon, the Ilfracombe Fryer came top of the list. As far as we were concerned, that was all they were top of. We checked the opening & closing times, and as it was 7pm, thought we were in good time to get there, get a table & order... More

We had a sit down meal, one cod and one haddock. There was full waitress service, the portions were a good size, and the fish quality excellent. the chips were crispy.
