.... some meat. This is a beautiful restaurant on the corner of Fore Street, Ilfracombe very close to the newly oppenned car park on the site of the old bus station and the pre-existing harbour car parks. In fact, if you're lucky, you can park just outside on the roadside giving you full sight of your vehicle. And then the... More

Excellent food and service. Book early to avoid disappointment. Brilliant value. The fish just melted in your mouth, which was helped by the lovely wine we washed it down with.

Lovely warm welcome. Excellent service. Food was locally sourced and cooked to order. Main course I had sea bass with ginger and soy sauce - the taste was amazing and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

What a great find whilst walking the Ilfracombe harbour. A very nice selection on the menu, the food was well presented, cooked beautifully and tasted superb. The service was very good and welcoming. Some nice background music with a couple of glasses of wine topped off our day in Ilfracombe very nicely - Would definitely return thank you

Went here on our first night in ilfracombe and was very disappointed. Being so close to the sea we expected lovely fresh fish at good prices with good service however this restaurant just didn't quite deliver. The crab cakes we both had for starters where nice and flavoured well although very small and at £6.50 not good value. I then... More

Booked a meal here as our final holiday treat and we weren't disappointed. I made an initial booking query by internet and received a speedy response. The restaurant is well appointed on a corner plot and boasts large, clean windows (not always easy in a seaside resort!). The table linen is crisp and white. The menu choices are limited but... More

If you are looking to eat out in Ilfracombe and don't like chips you could be in trouble, decent looking restaurants are few and far between with places either being closed during the week, or closed with it being 'out of season', however, as has been said on previous reviews, a gem exists - Take Thyme. Fresh fish is the... More

Visited this restaurant after seeing the reviews on trip advisor and we were blown away with the quality, taste and variety of fresh fish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the staff were exceptional. This is one restaurant that should be on everyone's 'bucket list'. Thanks folks you made our stay a most enjoyable and memorable experience. Antoinette &... More

Agree with other write ups that this is a friendly establishment serving quality fish dishes. Crab cakes starters are recommended and the John Dory falls off the bone - quite delicious. Cheese board is locally sourced and varied. The owners certainly know their fish and are quite open in saying something is off the menu if the supplied fish wasn't... More
