Often forgotten about by hoteliers and guest house owners, this stylish and friendly restaurant is a definite highlight of Illfracombe. Staff were very attentive, food was of high quality and the prices were spot on!

I have eaten here numerous times and I have never failed to be impressed.The menu is delicious and appetising and the food is beautifully cooked offering generous portion sizes. Great value for money and a must if you are visiting Ilfracombe for any length of time!

Very nice menu with an excellent choice of local fish, meat and vegetarian options. Good service. Quite tucked away, not far from the bus station.

This restaurant offers great food in a really nice intimate atmosphere. The food was beautifully presented on hot plates. We had mouth watering scollops & mushrooms to start, followed by the venison and medallions of fillet steak. A great menu, and great value for money. This family run restaurants is a must to visit when you are Ilfracombe

We were staying at the Elmfield Hotel who recommended we went to Clarets, which was a fantastic recommendation. The food was lovely (probably the best pudding I have ever had - white chocolate and orange cheesecake) and the service was so friendly and professional. If you are going to be in Ilfracombe don't miss your chance to eat at Clarets.
