Myself, husband and 3 children visited last week. It was the first time we have been since the refurbishment. The service has greatly improved, the tables are no longer sticky, it really does have a much cleaner feel. My husband had a curry which was presented very well and was very tasty, myself and the children had a really scrummy... More

We were a group of 37, we had the 3 course Sunday Roast deal, we had pre ordered as agreed, every starter, main and dessert were as ordered. Delicious breaded jalapenos, succulent hand carved turkey with homemade yorkshire puddings, ( that was my choices ) individual veg dishes, extra gravy if wanted. Followed by a delicious dessert, the largest Strawberry... More

Good food and good atmosphere with lots of little places to sit for a quiet meal. The staff did seem a little unprepared and though the food was good it is all very heavy, not a place to go if you're dieting.

Vising the area, we just managed to book a table for two for New Years Eve, the last free table I think. Despite the fact the pub was fully booked, the food was served quickly and considering the prices the quality was very good. At around 11 pm all the locals congregated to listen to the (very loud but very... More

The Caulkheads is my local pub, and in recent years was getting a little tired. However, a change of management a few months ago and a tasteful makeover mid November 2014 has positively transformed Caulkheads. Good friendly staff with choice of nice real ales, the new separate areas helps retains a pub atmosphere, but it is in food that Caulkheads... More

The welcome was cordial and service by the manager and young waitress was sufficiently attentive. The re-vamped decor was attractive with many old books being used as ornaments and possibly as a pastime whilst awaiting a meal. A cheery fire was burning the pub wasn't quite warm enough to be completely comfortable. Being a cold, foggy day we each ordered... More
