went here with a couple of friends on Sunday. Walked in at 8.15 and there was not a soul in the place. Went to the bar, but the girl behind it just ignored us and kept playing with her phone. A bloke came out and he served us - maybe they take turns! When I went back up later, I... More

...from a chain pub. On the plus side, there's a good choice of beers and those we had were in excellent condition. The food was standard pub grub. My cheese & ham salad sarnie with real ale chutney was a triple layer of bread - far too much stodge, two slices would have been ample. Filling was nice as was... More

We are regular visitors here for a beer, but have not eaten until very recently. We had a long journey up to Whitley Bay and couldn't be bothered cooking so decided to try the food. My wife had fish and chips which she said were excellent, my daughter had scampi and I had a clicker breast burger with sweet potato... More

No food here Monday to Wednesday in the evening, no wonder we were only 2 of 6 people present on the Monday evening. We gave it another go on Tuesday but it was no better with my partner being told the real ale should be OK as it was only put on the Saturday before. We tried again on the... More

On approaching you might think twice, do not let it put you off. The main area is in a class of its own & there is a separate dog friendly area. A great selection of beers & good priced wines along with good reasonably priced food makes this a place to visit when in the area.

Plenty of room in this bar with soft seating but a long wait for food which is ordinary bar standard.

I visited this pub a second try after a disappointing visit a few months ago and sadly it was the same again. We went on Sunday and ordered 2 Sunday dinners. Whilst the chicken was cooked ok and large (even a bit too big) that was the only good bit. I ordered an orange cordial and when it arrived it... More

We met some friends who live in Hampshire who were staying in Whitley Bay for a few nights. We chose somewhere they could find easily and booked a table for the 'Grill Night' Pub not too busy when we arrived and our table was set for six but two could not attend so we moved to a table for four....
