Had lunch at Sambuca's Whitley whilst in Whitley bay for a coastal walk. The staff where really friendly, efficient and helpful. The potato skins where lovely and my stagioni pizza was delicious. Will certainly be returning again!!

Visited this restaurant on April 26th 2015 for Lunch on a friend's birthday. Have been before with family and is ok for a quick meal but not 5 star! Tables were a little close together but quite a nice restaurant apart from that. Woman's toilets (upstairs) were pretty clean but only one toilet and sink! Food was pretty cheap but... More

Booked for 7pm by phone didn't even ask our name till I had to tell them! Over an hour wait till we eventually got our seat. Spoilt my night and then was hurried for the next guests. Will be trying somewhere new next time.

We come at least once per week. Food quality at these prices is phenomenal. Steaks always done to perfection but my fave is definitely the arrabiatta, it's so delicious. Recently added some more veggie options to specials. This is a photo of the aubergine and goats cheese. Very nice. Love it here.

Was here for dinner with friends. The restaurant is very family orientated and the decor somewhat quirky. In the corner is an old pulpit and if it is your birthday you are invited to stand in it while everyone sings 'Happy Birthday' to you. Certainly a good way of remembering the restaurant if you are out to celebrate your birthday.... More

I ate my lunch at Sambuca every day during my stay in Whitley Bay for a Training Course. I am Italian, so I was sceptical about the recipes while eating my lunch during the TC (mainly pasta, pizza and lasagna), but I visited again the restaurant to have lunch on a free day and I must admit that the recipes... As in all the Sambuca's the food is ok. You get rushed a bit on a busy evening, but that doesn't usually affect us, as we're normally with the kids. The biggest appeal is the price. Sooooo cheap, and considering the price it doesn't taste too bad either! I love the minestrone soup, and it's only a couple of quid!... More

Sambuca's is definitely worth a visit. From the rather quirky décor, to the friendly service and the excellent food. We drove up from London and spent the night in Whitley prior to catching a ferry so we found this restaurant by chance. The portions are slightly smaller than many other places, but this means that you can have 3 courses... More

you know it's time to leave. I understand this place is popular because of low prices, but you get what you pay for and I wouldn't recommend it. Walk a bit further down the street and visit Antonio's - great value happy hour deals.
