A lovely meal with friends. Good food, well cooked and beautifully presented. The staff are friendly and efficient and the atmosphere relaxed. We will all definitely be back.

Amazing hidden gem of a place in Whitley Bay. We came up from London to visit family only to have an amazing authentic Italian meal. Great wine and all at a great price. I cannot recemend this place enough.

If you’re looking for delicious food, friendly efficient service and a lovely room - where you can talk to each other and actually hear what is being said without people having to shout at the top of their voice - then the Grapevine is definitely worth a visit. I’ve been here a few times now, for evening meals and Sunday... More

As always, everything cooked to perfection, a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere and attentive but un-intrusive staff who cannot do enough to please. Highly recommended for a laid back, enjoyable, unhurried and excellent Sunday Lunch ! I just wished Inhadn't eaten the delicious bread which curbed my appetite! Thank you and will come back again!

Prebooked a table for a family lunch - 6 adults and 2 toddlers. The food was really good although as it was a Sunday, a limited menu of one fish dish and traditional Sunday lunch was available. Starters and desserts were limited on choice but all of the party agreed they were very good - one of the best tiramisu... More

I visited the Grapevine mid-week and thoroughly enjoyed the evening from start to finish. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with a charming ambience and, although I usually dine alone, I always feel totally comfortable in the Grapevine. I received a very warm welcome from Peter the owner and was looked after very well by the staff throughout my meal. The... More

They had changed their name from the Bay Bistro but frankly that did not matter. Food was exceptional and as I had booked for my Wife's Birthday they made it even more lovely. Starters were perfect mine a Salmon and Prawn parcel; hers Pear and Blue cheese salad. My Angus Steak main course was brilliant with twice cooked chips; her... More

My husband and I visited this restaurant and thought it was a lovely smart restaurant in Whitley Bay. What a disappointment. The menu looked interesting and we ordered starters and mains. The food on the plate was very small for the starter and when the mains arrived, we both felt they were skimping on food as again very very small.... More

This was our second visit to Grapevine, the first was an early menu during the week which we thoroughly enjoyed and recommended to others. However we then tried a Saturday night. The female staff were pleasant and friendly but I get the feeling the guy doesn't want under 40's in the restaurant! We just ordered mains as we wanted desert.... More

Just had Sunday lunch at the Grapevine for the first time. If you haven't already tried it, you are really missing out! Reminded me so much of the wonderful Sunday lunch that my Mum used to make - loads of meat, rich meaty gravy, roast potatoes and a fab selection of vegetables, not forgetting an amazing Yorkshire pudding (so many...
