Ate in both Douglas and Port St Mary. Wait staff are a cut above the average. One girl really was a credit to the place with her explanation of kippers and kipper pate to bemused Canadians. Reasonable quality at a reasonable price.

Only six tables but a choice of table d'hote or a la carte menu in the evening. We all had different dishes and all were very tasty, and the prices were about right for this type of establishment. Booking recommended and note that 9pm is closing time for new diners.

We sat outside, watching the world go by, and order scones with strawberry preserve and clotted cream. The scones were fresh (still warm) and huge. There was so much cream, I suspect that Cornwall is 'all sold out'. Washed down with a pot of tea for two it was 30 minutes of pure luxury.

Visited for dinner yesterday - not many people there when we arrived. The food was well cooked: we had salmon and they managed not to overcook it! Plenty of food - almost too much! Staff were welcoming, polite and helpful: can see why they have a Trip Advisor Award. Would definitely recommend: it's a shame that it's behind the main... More

We arrived at this place on the 4th July, it was pouring with rain and we were soaked! Found this place to eat, went in and it was a warm cosy cafe, the staff were nice, got a pot of tea for three and looked at the menus, the food we ordered was nice and plenty of it, also had... More

Last Saturday our crew of seven arrived in Douglas harbour and went in search of somewhere to eat. The restaurant looked like someones interpretation of a Victorian cottage, quite interesting but rather surreal and museum-like. A curious place indeed. We were seated downstairs and had that part of the restaurant all to ourselves. The food was pub style food, nothing... More

Whilst on a short break, four of us went into the Harbour Lights for brunch. We were well impressed, so much so we went back in the evening for dinner. My husband had queenies as a main, I had the battered fish. Both meals were delicious, well presented by friendly and efficient staff. We will make sure we pay another... More

The food here was gorgeous and atmosphere was cosy and welcoming a must go place to eat when on the island. My only complaint was staff need to he a little more attentive and knowledgeable as when we asked for a draught cider she said ok and gave us a bottle of magners and same member of staff avoided serving... Went to this restaurant for a family meal out and was very pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent and very well presented and the portion size was very good (not one of the 5 of us could finish all our food). Service was good and nice little touches like fresh hot bread that we sliced at the table. Wine list leaves... More
