Wonderful Views

The carvery style dining isn't a style we appreciate, but the buffet starter of assorted fish and seafood was a real treat. This plus the tremendous views over the bay whilst there were yachts sailing past really sold this restaurant to us.

We stayed at the Palace for B&B and have to say the breakfasts were reasonable but for the one evening meal we had, the whole experience was appalling. The start was poor because we had booked a table towards the front (the back is more bar area and a little gloomy) but the head waiter said it had to be... More

We booked a window table which wasn't reserved for us but fortunately one was still available so we were able to enjoy the view over the bay. We opted for the carvery rather than steaks and I helped myself to the prawns and salad bar. I would imagine that some less able diners would find it difficult to serve themselves... More

Middle of TT week and we expected this restaurant to be busy. We arrived a 8.00pm and there was only ten people in the restaurant. The display of starters looked reasonable, but the display of main courses looked most uninviting with the vegetables having been on display for sometime. Staff looked very bored! Perhaps we picked a bad night

Back again after a fifty week gap I am now sitting in the Paragon enjoying a buffet meal chosen by myself from a wide range of strters main meals and desserts.......Simon the restaurant manager led mr to "my tabl" --(they allocate NUMBER ONE table to me each year. I had a starter made up from the selection of sea food... More

First off the food was GREAT. I got a steak and both it and the chips(fries) and gravy that came with were so delicious. Use the gravy on the chips, NOT the steak, lol. Best steak I have had in ages. Unfortunately waiter was a stout older gentleman and he was overtly RUDE and snobby as hell. The other staff,... More

Lovely carvery choices, absolutely delicious. Dessert was amazing. The service was excellent, the waiters were so very polite and attentive. They were very helpful with the children who they loved having their own menu. The waiter even took away my toddler's plate and cutlery, I had brought, and saw that they were cleaned at his instigation.

We had a table overlooking the bay. Excellent selection at the buffet with both fish, meat and salads for starters, roast of the day was gammon, but we chose the braised lamb which was excellent and fell off the bone. No room for a pudding but with sharing a bottle of wine the bill was only £44.65, very good value

We were looking for a buffet style lunch and found the Paragon restaurant to be perfect. Lovely surroundings ,panoramic views of Douglas bay. The service was very friendly and good what you would expect from a four star hotel. The lunch time offer we took was 2 courses for £12 which included tea or coffee. The mains comprised of 4... My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. The restaurant is a Carvary, which is not a style we normally favour. We prefer freshly cooked food - quality rather than quantity. For starters there is always a soup or help yourself from a cold buffet. The latter always comprised prawns,... More
