Great Chinese in Douglas town centre

Needing a 'Chinese' fix whilst away for a few days my wife and I called here on our last evening prior to leaving the IOM having read various reviews and thinking it would be good. We were not disappointed. The decor is a bit tired but we were there to eat not view. The service by the young man... read more

Ordered a takeaway from here last night, order was wrong to start with! Sweet and sour chicken had about 6 pieces of chicken in and the rest was just veg which we asked for it without veg. Very small portions considering it was so expensive. Prawn crackers were not cooked properly. Very disappointed as this used to be a lovely... More

This restaurant has been my favourite for ever - but no more. Food - poor. Staff try to put us off the crab claws stating that they take ages (and served with pieces of plastic packaging too). Ambience - we were the only ones in!! Service - fair, but no authentic staff in residence FOH -?? Overall - really disappointing,... More

Visited with a group of friends late on a Sunday having not made a booking, half expected to be turned away but they could not be more accomodating. The food is very good but the service sets this place apart, the waiter was so attentive and really couldn't do enough for us. This certainly makes the difference & I would... More

Tasty lunchtime Chinese food. We've been going here for years and the lunchtime two course menu with a glass of wine is always delicious

We have visited this restaurant on many occasions, both in a large group and for a quiet romantic meal for two. We always receive a great service from Chris and his team and the quality of the food is great. Most recently, we visited for a birthday celebration on a Saturday evening - the restaurant was busy, but not quite... More

I'd been to this restaurant the on a previous occasion when visiting the island, but called in again with 2 friends. We booked as there is limited space and the restaurant is very popular. The gentleman in charge is one of the nicest, most accommodating people I have ever met. He couldn't do enough for us. I mentioned my wheat... More

On first glance, the Laughing Buddha is not particularly striking as it is hidden in between staircases which pass from behind M&S to the street leading to the government building. However, the food is lovely and the service friendly and I have been quite a few times and have always received the same treatment. Inside, the restaurant is slightly outdated... More

Went here on New Years Eve it was very busy. However only one staff towards the end of the night. Plate was snatched of our hands. Very rushed service. The food usual heavy MSG, and Satay sauce have remarkable or interesting stale after taste.

Last we week arrived at the Laughing Buddha, for a post Christmas function. We had a ordered set meal B for 3 and some of us set meal D for 2. As there was 14 of us, others ordered individually from the normal menu. When we got the bill, the owner tried to over charged us. He told us that... More
