Best restaurant in Douglas

Decided to book here for a birthday party and couldn't have made a better choice. The quality of the food was outstanding, and that was matched by the excellent portion size. But what really made the night was the staff - attentive, friendly and the reason why we will all be going back.

Myself and my family had Christmas lunch at the Claremont Hotel. We were booked in downstairs. One of our party could not use the staircase due to mobility and I had asked previously if there was another entrance for her to use as for some strange reason there is no lift to downstairs. On attending the hotel I was shown... More

Dear guest, thank you for taking the time to write this review regarding Christmas Day lunch. Whilst your review is not actually about the Coast restaurant, we note your feedback. We confirm that the partner hotel adjacent to Coast does not have mobility access as it is a Victorian building with original features and these include a set of external... More

We went to Coast last night (Saturday night, penultimate one before Xmas) and both the food and service were excellent. We have been here on a couple of prior occasions this year, having also got married at the Claremont in 2013, and each time there have been no complaints (pretty rare comment coming from me!). I would completely agree with... More

Ate here after spotting it while walking past. Sadly, it's current placing on Tripadvisor does not do this place justice. Food is very good. Modern decor gives it a good ambience but they definitely need more customers. Ate fish cake starter then rib-eye steak. Both well cooked and better than most restaurants on IoM in my experience. Two course dinner... More

My girlfriend and I ate here on a Sunday night early in August. We were just wandering along Douglas seafront and liked the look of the menu so walked in to see if there was space for us. We were greeted immediately and shown to a lovely large table in a bay window with a view of the Promenade. We... More

I recently went to Coast for a business lunch, the service was excellent, the waitress was attentive, yet discrete. The whole menu had times beside each dish (stating the amount of time from order to service) this was really useful when on a time constraint lunchtime. The whole menue was very good, I ate from the "Specials" menu (2 courses... More

With basic side dishes costing extra this works out quite expensive, good for special occasion. Staff were excellent and menu choice was good and overlooking promenade is lovely

Went to celebrate our wedding anniversary & from the moment we walked in we were made to feel very welcome & nothing was too much trouble. The menu had a great selection & our food was beautifully presented. The highlight for us though was the service, Maria is very professional, friendly & goes the extra mile to ensure all of... More

The Coast restaurant is not your average hotel restaurant. This is a destination restaurant with an excellently balanced range of dishes. The rump of lamp with samphire and peas is unique and worth a visit here just in itself. Good wine list, and with a good range of "by the glass" . An added bonus is the adjacent lounge with... More
