So glad that we chose Tanroagan for dinner tonight. Everything about it was perfect. We ordered appetizers as well as dinner. The meal was incredible and Laura was terrific. Wishing we had a Tanroagan in Washington state. No doubt we would frequent it.

I did not think we would get a table on a Saturday night after reading other reviews but we did, and enjoyed it very much. We chose Monkfish and Turbot from the specials and the main menu and both were excellent. The waitress was very helpful and prepared to offer advice on wine to go with the meal (always useful... Visited this restaurant on a friday evening with my husband, we had chosen this restaurant as it was rated the best restaurant on the island. We were not disappointed and both chose the Turbet to eat, which was on the specials menu. Both the fish and the ambience was excellent and would definitely eat at this restaurant again

I think it is fair to say that the Isle of Man is not everyone's idea of a foodie paradise, but there is definitely a movement on the island towards showcasing the best of Manx produce. A few more restaurants of this calibre and the Island could become a serious contender as a gourmet destination. Tanroagan is situated in Douglas'... More

Ate here in July 2014 with friends. Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. The crab toasties and cod and Parmesan risotto were gorgeous and the brown bread ice cream exquisite! The homemade made is absolutely fantastic. I had walnut and Stilton..... Delicious! Service was attentive, but not intrusive, and the ambience wonderful. Will definitely return. There is only one thing I... More

Tanroagan and sister property The Boat Yard are quite obviously very popular, and for good reason. Booking a day ahead we only had the choice of a 6.30pm seating and to be gone by 8.15. I am never a fan of this scenario, puts too much pressure onto both diners and the kitchen staff I believe. However, we chose the... More

Before our holiday in the IOM, we'd researched places to eat in Douglas and noted Tanroagan as No.1 on Tripadvisor. On the afternoon of our arrival, we walked passed the restaurant and noticed a young lady vacuuming ready for evening service - we enquired and, yet, they could just fit us in later that day. Our meal was excellent -... More

We were lucky enough to get an early table but booking is really essential and for a Friday and Saturday, weeks ahead. Our meals were superb from the home made bead choice to a superb fish selection beautifully cooked and served hot. I agree it's not cheap but it was so good the price was worth paying. If ever I... We ate out every night of our 4 nights in Douglas but this has to be our best meal. The staff were great, the food was excellent. I had turbot, something I rarely see now days on the menu. It was a good piece beautifully cooked. I would certainly go back again. It is not cheap but not expensive for... More
