Great setting

This is my regular haunt when I come to Ventnor. Love the setting overlooking the sea. The staff are friendly, the wine is good and the cake is lovely. The food is tapas style, with the crab and prawn special being my favourite! Lovely ambience and will definitely be back again.

A fabulous beachfront setting in this picturesque bay especially with the sun shining sat outside the continental style bar. The food was a choice of tapas style and extremely well presented and reasonably priced. It's position does mean light traffic passing by but this is the only downside and would highly recommend.

I live locally and like nothing better than a walk around the Ventnor/Bonchurch/Steephill Cove area, culminating in a visit to the Met for a coffee or prosecco. Without fail, the staff are friendly and helpful and, if one is a regular, the staff make a point of remembering your preferences. I'm a vegetarian so they wouldn't suggest a meat or... More

Coffee and teas were fine. Service was good and swift but, due to staff shortages they were not serving food in the afternoon, so we went elsewhere.

Great place, right on the esplanade. Friendly staff serving good food in nice surroundings. We stopped for a coffee after a long walk along the lovely seafront and ended up having a nice meal. Not the cheapest food on the island, but more than worth the little extra. If you just fancy a coffee, this is the place.

So very very disappointing ,family visit only to find the a marked deterioration since our visit, last summer , it was quite obvious they did not have sufficient staff on duty, considering the bar was half empty and we had made an advanced booking we still waited for 35 minutes to place our food order , only to be told... We met for a family meal over the Christmas period. The place was packed; not sure why. Food took a long time to come. My meatballs were distinctly average. More seasoning and some sort of a kick would have been welcome. Furniture was randomly spaced and the tables were laid poorly. Service was slow and verging on unhelpful. Saving grace:... More

Visited the Met on a rainy evening in November. We were pleased to see an abundance of local ingredients being used and opted for the fish, Ventnor being a seaside town. The Sea bass was perfectly cooked and the crab dish was very tasty. We wish we could have stayed for there wine tasting evening but unfortunately work back home... More
