The Met is about relaxation, quality tapas and fine drinks; bringing a little of the Mediterranean to the beach-front at Ventnor on the Isle of Wight. Enjoy a taste of our continental style hospitality outside in the sun on our paved seating area overlooking the glorious Ventnor beach. Alternatively why not come inside and enjoy our sumptuous leather seating. Drop in for a coffee or a glass of wine and you'll be certain of a warm welcome from our friendly staff and a truly memorable experience, any time of the day. Our light and airy bar also serves ice-cold specialty beer and cider to cool you down after a day on the beach. Whether you are planning a big night out or just popping in for a chat with friends, The Met is your perfect venue.

Yummy lunch

Lovely lunch at the Met on Saturday. Had a few glasses of Prosecco. I had the Hoisin duck wrap which was LOVELY and my fiance had the Turkey pasta which was tasty but a bit rich for me! Waitresses could have smiled a little more, but they were quite busy.

We arrived about 6pm for dinner, but told that they didn't serve food until 6.30pm, got served with drinks and complementary nibbles while we waited, checked out the menu and enjoyed the wonderful sea views - Great choice of food, nice and fresh - excellent service and great atmosphere - loved it thank you to the staff at the Met... The Met had been on my radar for sometime, hearing good things from different people I finally got the chance to go. The place on a whole looks welcoming and pleasant. I am also a big fan of seafood, and as The Met sits 100 yards from the beach and not much further from one of the best fishmongers on... More

This review is purely based on our visit for coffee, not for food. A good location overlooking the beach & a nice little sun trap but oh so disappointing coffee. Best described as wet & warm, 2/10. Will not be visiting again for coffee.

My family and I have eaten here a number of times. Great view, great food and great staff. What more do you need!

A lovely setting overlooking the seafront. Had lunch and chose the crab dish and a bottle of Pedigree. Service was excellent as usual as was the food. Highly recommend but you should book for weekends and in the Summer as it is very popular.

This is my regular haunt when I come to Ventnor. Love the setting overlooking the sea. The staff are friendly, the wine is good and the cake is lovely. The food is tapas style, with the crab and prawn special being my favourite! Lovely ambience and will definitely be back again.

A fabulous beachfront setting in this picturesque bay especially with the sun shining sat outside the continental style bar. The food was a choice of tapas style and extremely well presented and reasonably priced. It's position does mean light traffic passing by but this is the only downside and would highly recommend.

I live locally and like nothing better than a walk around the Ventnor/Bonchurch/Steephill Cove area, culminating in a visit to the Met for a coffee or prosecco. Without fail, the staff are friendly and helpful and, if one is a regular, the staff make a point of remembering your preferences. I'm a vegetarian so they wouldn't suggest a meat or... More

Coffee and teas were fine. Service was good and swift but, due to staff shortages they were not serving food in the afternoon, so we went elsewhere.
