good views of the sea.

Visited on a rainy Friday night. There was a live band (who were good) and it was not busy. Good selection of pub food with a good selection of beers, ales, and wine. Friendly and efficient staff.

Unhelpful slightly rude staff so we left the mess from a baby led weaning toddler for them to clean up because the service was SO bad and the food tastes like they'd put a pot of salt in it

Expecting a cosy pub but it seemed cold dark and dirty the tables were dirty and sticky and toilets seat was broken and not clean. The food was expensive and portions were quite big but would've been better if it was cheaper with a small size plate. Shame to say we won't be returning. The staff were friendly but not... More

Visited with family on Saturday night, was very happy with the service, all staff were polite and helpful. The food was average pub food, although the salad looked a bit sorry for it's self and wasn't dressed, there was also way too many chips on the plate. The live band is nice but would be better if a little quieter,... More

Lovely situation on the sea front. Street parking free during the winter months. There is a charge during the summer and there is a car park further along the sea front. We visited in January after a breezy walk along the beach. A lovely friendly and warm welcome from the staff. An extensive menu with a large Gluten Free option.... More

We called here on xms morning, to get out of the rain after a walk down the seafront. We were so impressed we went back the following evening for a meal. Great atmosphere!

We ate lunch here on New Years day. Although we couldn't book and you were seated on a first come first served basis the staff were very helpful and we didn't have to wait long. we decided not to have anything too heavy and my husband went for scampi and chips. There was so much food on the plate he... More

Good pub grub, good sized portions and good ales all at good value. Been many time and it delivers nothing fancy but with usually something different as a special. The food portions are large so bring an appetite - the time we had 10oz gammon and fish and chips at £22.20 can't fault. Have good ales on and I went... More

This has become my regular haunt on trips over to the island... I love it here. I usually reserve a table because it gets very, busy in the evening. Live music at the weekends, great sea views, a real buzzing atmosphere and lots of memorabilia on the walls etc. The food is first class. I thoroughly recommend.

It was a stormy night on Shanklin's sea front, with not many option available my girlfriend indigenous to Shanklin recommended The Steamer. I can see it being busy within the summer months but when tourists leave the island it is filled with locals and a birthday party of 20. The staff were pleasant but the uniforms outdated and not worn... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. Firstly, I would like question the comment about our uniforms being "not worn correctly". our staff where a t-shirt on top and trousers on the bottom. I can only assume one of my staff had got this the wrong way round. Secondly, I can understand you enjoy a certain quality... More
