Lovely old building, staff were fine, food wasn't though. Rather overpriced for what it was and quality was lacking. Stick to fish and chips!

We visited the tea rooms to have cream tea and we weren't disappointed, the food was delicious, as we were on holiday we treated the kids to a chocolate pizza which went down a treat, the staff were very friendly, we would definitely recommend.

Very pretty cottage tea-rooms. Lovely hot lunch and cakes. Very welcoming owners. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent varied menu. Looking forward to a return visit when we holiday on the island again.

we wanted a snack to keep us going until dinner so 2 of us chose pumpkin soup while the others had a sandwich. The sandwiches were fine but the pumpkin soup lacked body & flavour. I was however impressed by the swift offer of a substitute which was much better.

Lovely old cottage (allegedly the oldest building in town) with some good history to it. Lovely cuppa with their cream tea, and they make a decent cappuccino too. Tip: Pay the little extra for fresh strawberries alongside your jam/cream/butter/scones

This place is a must see, gorgeous Olde World décor and a really pretty fairy garden out the back. The food is just delicious and very reasonable. The lady that runs this place is so lovely.

Wow! What a beautiful place for tea and afternoon cakes. Loved it here today. Perfect cup of tea and lemon drizzle cake to die for. Service was impeccable with a welcome to match. They closed today (31/10) for the winter but open again on 18-03-16, male sure to pay them a visit of you're in Shanklin.

Having tried many a tea room, I can honestly say that The Old Thatch was the best (and prettiest) I have been to yet. Despite being the end of the season and dreary outside, the pretty pink interior dotted with kitsch ornaments was the perfect setting for tea, scones, and anything else you could manage on the menu!
