Two Mature Ladies Visit

A visit from Shrewsbury,Shropshire, loved all the different china, and the layout of the tearooms. Delicious pancakes, and enjoyable banter with the male proprietor, hope to visit again sometime

Hideous decor but the food and drinks were all good and a reasonable price. I certainly won't go back inside as its taken my eyes two weeks to recover so that I can write this review, however if it was a nice day I'd be happy to go and sit in the garden.

Today we visited the wonderful 'Old Thatch Teashop' in Shanklin. It looked beautiful from the outside. The interior was wonderfully decorated in themed colours, then we entered the garden area... Fairies adorned the back of the garden, the whole ambience was just perfect. When our food arrived, what can I say... It was the best cream tea I've ever had... More

Hidden away at the back of the tea-rooms (the oldest building in Shanklin) was a rustic garden with plenty of seating. Within the garden they had created a secret garden of fairies to which I seen some children run over to in amazement (I also had to take a peek). The food looked as good as it tasted. Dainty sandwiches... More

Wow, what a stunning tea room in a perfectly fitting venue. Tea Rooms are without doubt one of those traditional English quirks that can be done either mediocre or very well. The Old Thatch Tearooms surpassed all expectations and is without doubt one of the best we have ever visited. The ways the tea room is split into 'Ladies pink'... More

We visited this gorgeous thatched tea room on Saturday 4th April around half 11 after visiting the shanklin chine. I chose to my partners dismay to sit in the pink room! However he overlooked the colour as the food was simply divine. We ordered a Victorian tea for two as we fancied scones and sandwiches and it was our first... More

We were a family of 7 visiting the Isle of Wight, and stopped here for afternoon tea on our way back to the ferry. What a treat?! We enjoyed a delicious proper Victorian cream tea. Delicious cakes, scones and sandwiches served with huge pots of proper tea. The tearooms are decorated with lots of pretty china so be careful with... More

Now, If only this was my local tearoom! To start with the owners were a bit bemused when I entered clutching one of their small signs that had presumably detached itself and blown some way down the road. Monsieur, who probably suspected me of having removed it in the first place, went out to reattach it to wherever it had... More
