Enchanting!

During our recent trip to the Isle of Wight we stumbled across The Old Thatch Tearooms. Fortunately we didn't have any waiting time and were shown to a table in the beautiful fairy garden. What an enchanting and tranquil setting! Despite the fact that there had just been a heavy shower, we were... read more

Lovely tea rooms. Very busy and we had to wait a while for a table but it was worth the wait! I am gluten intolerant and was spoilt for choice. There are plenty of choices including gorgeous cakes. Would highly recommend

I visited this lovely tea room while on holiday last week. I loved the decor, the beautiful garden and the cream tea was lovely. You get 2 warm scones which I thought was great value for money. The staff were friendly and the service was great. I spoke to Patricia before I left and what a lovely lady she was.... More

We had a lovely lunch here sitting outside on the garden and sunshine. It was really peaceful. The waitresses were very attentive and friendly. Food was simple but very nice. My husband very much enjoyed his cream tea! We would go back. FYI - they don't take card payments

My husband and I and 3 children visited here on our holiday. Upon entering were told 'wait!' Then husband tutted at and told by another member of staff 'I need to go past ' no excuse me, sorry, or please. Lastly yet another staff member was extremely rude. Left without ordering and went elsewhere.

We visited the The Old Thatch Tearooms last week when on holiday & I have to say it was amazing and to make it even more special they have their very own fairy garden outside which was just lovely, my 6 year old daughter thought it was just magical (as did I) & you can buy the fairies in there... Having already had cream teas in the Green and Pink rooms and the garden in previous years we finally timed it just right to have the Blue room, long admired from the window and doorway! We had the trio of savoury homemade scones and the totally stuffed crab sandwich. Plenty for 2 people to share. The crab sandwich is definitely... More

Ah thank you so much for your 2nd review of my Beautiful Teashop and I am so pleased that you were again equally happy as the first time you visited. I don't think I will be able to build another room for you to visit but I can suggest you have your scones in one room, sandwich in another and... More

I visited the old thatch a couple of weeks ago, a lovely place for afternoon tea and the gardens are beautiful and relaxing, Unfortunately I was disappointed with the food, I ordered a cheese toastie, a scone with jam and cream and a hot chocolate. I found that my cheese toastie was barley toasted and the cheese inside unmelted, not... More

Thank you for your review and I am surprised that you did not ask one of our "polite and friendly Staff' to toast your toastie a little more etc. We are always willing and try very hard to meet everyones needs and, of course, I am fully aware that although the majority of our Customers are more than satisfied with... We had an average sandwich - but a nicer cream tea. It's cramped inside which meant we didn't feel like lingering. It's OK... but there are nicer places to enjoy a cream tea

Thank you for your review and you are right, it is cramped inside on a wet rainy day when I hate to turn Customers back into the rain. Patricia More

Visited for brunch, ordering 2 gluten free cream teas, a kids nutella toast platter (that came with strawberries, cheese and grapes) and a really, really nice twist on eggs Benedict with black pudding in between 2 slices of toast. The internal decoration is delightful with old paintings and photos mingling with the different teapots on display and the garden was... More

Thank you for your most wonderful review of my Beautiful Teashop. It is really nice when my Customers have a wonderful time, not only enjoying their food, but who appreciate all the other aspects to the Teashop. I especially enjoy it when Mums, Dads and Children all have a good time. Hope you are able to visit again and enjoy... More
