What would give it 5 full blown stars would be if there were no raisins sneaking around in the scones. I never grew to like them. Ever. Have been frequenting the place every weekend for a box to go. Going to explode. Amazing.

The Bay Tree Restaurant is a little hidden gem just off High Street in Holywood. Renown for their great coffee and cinnamon scones - they should also be renown for their excellent regular wine (and whiskey) tasting evenings matched with excellent food. Having been to my 3rd such event in as many months in conjunction with Gap Wine - matching... More

This is a lovely long established coffee shop cafe in Holywood. Just on the outer edge of the main street which allows some easier parking closeby. Enter through an old arch from the main street to the cafe on the left. An easy goods-to-go 'Go Bay Tree' on right side works well for a take away and stops customer clutter... More

Went here for lunch recently having not been in quite a while. We used to go to the Bay Tree very regularly over the years for breakfast, lunch, coffees and dinner. I opted for the ham super salad for lunch- whilst it was nice enough, it unfortunately not a patch on the excellent super salads that they used to do.... More

This is a special place for a lunch, snack, or coffee, with superb home made goodies and tasty main courses. The cider is very quaffable, the cakes delicious, the atmosphere usually busy and very contented. Only problem is it's so popular that it is sometimes difficult to get a table - probably because too many people like us feel compelled... More

All round class! Admittedly I never venture here for more that a coffee and cinnamon scone (soon to change that) but you're guaranteed quality. I love the vibes, staff are a delight and very helpful and of course the cinnamon scones are the best around. I also love how they're proud of their scone recognition but don't let that define... Usually a gratifying experience, today was a tad disappointing at the Bay Tree in Holywood. Sat down at a table but it took a full five minutes to have the table cleared of the previous customers' detritus. A surly chap walked past our uncleared table several times, once catching my eye without a smile or as much as a simple... More

Have been here a few times, but most recently was here for Sunday brunch, the food was brilliant especially the cinnamon scones! Definitely worth a visit! Have never had an evening meal here, but the menu looked quite pricey. Brunch was an OK price, the scones are worth the £2 though!

Went here with my family for dinner and could not fault it. I had the lamb for main, it was simply divine! Melt in the mouth, cooked to perfection, I can still taste it. Beautiful red wine to go with the meat, great service, friendly smiling waitress, overall superb.

My daughter, my husband, my sister and I have been going here for years and I still adore it. Lovely homely atmosphere, country vibe and helpful warm staff make it great to have lunch in. Went with my daughter, father in law and mother in law today and ordered the bacon toasties as well as 2 cinnamon scones. We were... More
