If you like Tapas then go here the last Saturday of every month. We dont like Tapas but I had booked the restaurant anyway and was not told. Really wanted a nice 3-4 course meal based on previous reviews but had to make do with tapas. Atmosphere was more like a hairdressers (not surprising - there is one upstairs) and... More

I don't expect great things from anywhere in the Wigan area, so here, we expected to be fed, pay the bill, and go. How wrong I was. Both of our meals were excellent - good quality produce, and really tasty. I remember that my chicken was cooked perfectly - not dry or overdone. We really enjoyed it and walked out... More

My rating of average and the use of the word satisfactory in the title slightly underplay the experience. Returning to Wigan after many years I was unsure where to grab lunch with the family, I picked this place on the back of reviews and it was good choice, I recommend to others. The service was friendly and engaging, however the... More

Went here today for Mothers Day with the family, very helpful and pleasant staff, nothing too much trouble. The menu was hard to choose from as everything sounded yummy. The food was as excellent as it sounded and the beef I had was beautiful. I would dine here every week if I could. Will be going again soon. :)

The Red Door Bistro. If you want your food rushed with 2 mins between 1st and 2nd course with inattentive staff and small insignificant portions, the Red Door is definitely NOT the place to go to. Loved it! Ham Hock & Pea Terrine for me and a Vegetarian Haggis for the boss. Both delicious, very delicious! Roast Pork Belly with... More

Once again the Red Door has proved itself to up there with the best in Wigan and arguably the best in the town centre by a long way. Jane turns out great food on a regular basis and a consistent quality level too. Lots of attention to detail and perfectly presented. The service was a little slow on this visit... More
