Mouthwatering Thursday meal!

Just literally reluctantly left the Red Door. The original Red Door, Wigan. 30/7/15 at 9.30pm. Oh my. What can I say what's not been said? The Ribeye Steak, come on? I pride myself on cooking a good steak, but,I'm not in the Red Doors league by a long chalk. The Belgium Waffle as been mentioned and... read more

What a pleasant hideaway restaurant, tucked away in a side street. The service was prompt and the staff could not do enough for you, they kept coming over checking if food was OK and if you needed more drinks. The food was freshly cooked and the portions were just right. The evening meal deal of 2 courses for £14.95 was... More

Went out for a meal yesterday evening 18th July, very friendly staff shown to our table and straight away brought a jug of ice water with lemon and limes in. Spoke with the girl taking our order about one of the meals being gluten free, this was no problem at all as all the food fresh and cooked from scratch... More

I hardly ever write reviews but this bistro tucked away in a side street in Wigan has prompted me feedback how good it is. This was my third visit and it has become my favourite restaurant in Wigan. - quality wholesome food with fresh ingredients and cooked to order - decent portions - decent prices - attentive polite waiting staff... We were walking from the centre of town off to another restaurant when my wife spied the Red Door Bistro hidden in the ginnel of College Avenue, between Library St and King St. We walked up to look what it was and my wife thought it was a hairdressers (That's what is above in the day) We saw that it... Love this place! Great quality ingredients, cooked to perfection, by a chef that really cares about everything she puts on a plate.

After listening to the office chit chat about Red Door Bistro I decided to take a work colleague for a small informal business lunch . On arrival we were greeted by a very pleasant young chap who quickly made our small party feel welcome after a few minutes our drinks order taken ,which on this occasion consisted of two cups... We dined here recently with another couple and to start with the service was good; friendly and attentive staff in a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Our starters came in a reasonable time and were ok but a little dry (terrine). Mains came fairly quickly... The pork belly was good as was the lamb burger, however the vegetables with the pork were... More
