Veggie Meals for Desperate Dan or Daniela

I was visiting Wigan with my sister and she found The Coven. We were delighted with the standard of the veggie food and the tea. The Staff were very polite and friendly - very welcoming. However we were taken aback by the amount of food. My sister ordered Asian fritters and I, Falafel. The meals... read more

Popped in whilst passing & had a lovely mushroom burger. Simple menu supplemented by a good selection of daily specials.

went on a cooking experience from Groupon here, in this little gem for veggies and vegans, ate the courses as she went along, you can eat anything on the menu as a veggie and pretty much everything for gluten free! what a treat

Love this place, we've celebrated an anniversary, Birthday and popped in for lunch and each time we were made to feel very welcome and the food was faultless. A gluten and dairy free Birthday cake was even made for me on order last year, which was gorgeous.

I had seen The Coven was rated high for Wigan restaurants on Tripadvisor but only recently did I decide to take a visit. Me and my boyfriend are both meat eaters but I managed to talk him into coming with me for lunch one afternoon! The outside is quite easy to miss - I've walked past hundreds of times and... More

A group of us booked a table for 6.30pm, we ordered our food and an hour and twenty minutes it arrived on cold plates, the food itself was tepid, and the size of the portion would'nt have bloated a gerbil! We were shocked at the cost of this one course, priced at £9.95! We were so hungry when we left.... More

I was very intrigued to visit the Coven after a recommendation from a friend. Newly vegan, I was still shocked I had never heard of the place. Went with a friend on a quiet lunch, and was very pleasantly surprised. I had the soup of the day, which was delicious- green veg and ginger, with a houmous wrap and salad.... More

Beautiful meals, worth the wait. Very relaxing space in the back garden. Impressive amount of fresh herbs. Menu choice covering most of cravings but short enough to focus on the quality and taste. Thanks, will come back for sure.

Whilst none of the family are vegetarian this has become a firm family favourite! Fantastic place, with a great menu and wonderful service. On a sunny day eating out in the garden is also a real treat, feels like being in a secret garden with the hustle and bustle of town centre live just over the wall but feeling a... More

Myself and partner had a fantastic lunch today. I had the lasagne with toffuti with side salad, partner had one of the specials which was a Morrocan stew with naan and we shared some chips. We also had the chocolate goo cake (which definately lives up to its expectations!) with vanilla ice cream, a soy cappuccino and a soy caramel... More
