I had checked trip advisor before going for my solo lunch in Wigan and this place had good reviews so I gave it a go. I was on the hunt for a healthy, light lunch with a glass of wine to get in the holiday mood. I would never have spotted it from the outside it doesn't look like much... More

Just had my 2nd visit to The Coven (I live 200 miles away, if I was closer I would go every week), and once again it was just amazing. This is a very small restaurant with homely mismatching wooden tables and candle light, so it has a really warm atmosphere. The owner/chef is just lovely, she sat with us to... More

Me and my husband are now regular visitors and LOVE the coven, my husband and other family members were completely against the idea of eating a vegetarian or vegan dish but the coven have completely changed their outlook! The garden is BEAUTIFUL in summer and the decor inside is lovely, the evening atmosphere if you were to book for the... More

We are regular visitors to the coven but felt it warranted another review as it is always so nice. The food is consistently fresh and delicious and there is a good selection of loose tea, everything served on quirky china. It's a lovely cosy place to eat and always our first choice when we are in the town centre. Would... More

Great to go to a place where I am spoiled for choice. As a vegetarian gluten intolerant it was a treat to be able to eat everything on the menu. And the food was very tasty. Well done

There was an interesting variety of dishes all explained wonderfully well by the chef. A lovely twinkly feel to what is a tiny place but all the better for that. Great service. Great food. What a find.

Hi All. I am not a veggi, I eat at the Coven regularly because it's simply very good tasty food served with a smile and conversation with anyone present- great atmosphere. I can recommend chinese friters with noodles, fully loaded omlette and the chips are the best. together with a coffee which knocks the big coffee shops into touch. If... More

I go here as often as I can with my baby daughter, and I'm never disappointed. The food is brilliant (and I'm not a vegetarian) but the owner is really great, so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Don't go to Starbucks or Greggs when you can go round the corner to this place! I can't speak highly enough... More

I've now started to venture into The Coven on my own, it has a lovely welcoming feel about the place and the staff will always chat to you if you fancy it, it's an easy place to escape. The food is so tasty and you don't have to be veggie/vegan to enjoy. I highly recommend the curries they cook up,... More
