Fantastic homely vegan food

Went for a meal with a vegan friend. Although I eat anything it was a great dining experience. Small but friendly place. Food very interesting and excellent quality. Listening to other customers who came in it seems that the owner/chef is never phased by any dietary requirements. One guy came... read more

Since moving to the area 18 months ago I've become a regular here. The meals are tasty and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. I've tried almost everything on the menu and can honestly say it's all delicious.

I'm a regular and often pop in either for food or just a pot of tea from their wide selection. Good is always delicious - service is always with a smile and I can't fault the place. Amazing - From a meat eater that's saying something. Keep up the good work Sue

I am a regular to the Coven and often come on my own for breakfast/brunch, coffee etc. I have introduced die hard meat eating friends to this place and they love it. We often come in a big group for an evening meal every few weeks. The food is amazing- so tasty, fresh, inventive. From small plates to the option... More

Tucked away in a quiet location just a moment away from the main stream of shops in the town centre. Hippyish feel to the place, great menu and fresh vibrant food. Thanks for a nice breakfast, well worth a visit.

This is a lovely laid back place to go either in the day or in the evening. The lady who runs this brings a special personal touch tou can't get anywhwre else. It's like to have gone to a family members home. Beautiful lady. The food is freshly made and to individual liking. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options available.... More

Went to the coven yesterday for the first time after reading all the reviews on Trip advisor. Wasn't disappointed. Small, quirky place with a lovely atmosphere. I had the Chinese fritters, which were the nicest Chinese dish that I have ever had. Yes, ever! Followed by the chocolate goo cake. Can't wait to go back as I have already decided... More

This place is at the opposite end of the spectrum to frankly and bennys. Had great meal last night with amazing meze and irresitable Iranian stew. Packed with flavour. Excellent service. If vegetarianism was always this good I might think twice about eating dead animals.

We are regular visitors to the coven during the day but had not visited in the evening before. The menu was either two or three courses from the specials board, all food either vegetarian or vegan and some options were gluten free. As usually everything we had was absolutely delicious and obviously freshly cooked. We had green vegetable soup with... More

I had checked trip advisor before going for my solo lunch in Wigan and this place had good reviews so I gave it a go. I was on the hunt for a healthy, light lunch with a glass of wine to get in the holiday mood. I would never have spotted it from the outside it doesn't look like much... More
