Visited Saturday evening, booked table for 8:30 arrived around 8 had a drink in the bar and was seated soon after 8:30. Food very nice. Nice atmosphere. It was loud but the restaurant was packed which is always a good sign. Prices reasonable. Service was good. We very much enjoyed the food and our visit.

We booked a table for 8.30 on a Saturday night. Arrived at 8.15, expecting it to be busy but it was like being on the tube at rush hour. Gave our name to the greeter who told us to go to the bar and get a drink. Which we did, and waited 15 minutes to get served. There was 1... More

Visited this restaurant twice now, both times at weekend. Both times the restaurant has been packed but we have still received great service. Considering how many covers the kitchen provides on a nightly basis the food is of a good standard & always hot when served. Just needs a bit of refining, few small changes would make a lot of... Tucked away but in a near centre position this is a great restaurant. I have only ever been 'off peak' so can't comment on the service when it's busy but have always had a nice time with great food and efficient staff. It's worth seeking out as it's above the standard of most of the town centre places.

I chose this restaurant on trip advisor because I didn't know any decent restaurants, as I have lived out of the area for 17 yrs. My family of 6 have never been before who live locally and we loved every course it was gorgeous. The staff are very friendly and it's very busy which is a sign that it's good... More

We've been to The Fat Olive on numerous occasions as a family (the last time was in August for a birthday meal), and it is brilliant every time. There is no beating it - the best restaurant in Wigan by a country mile. Great variety on the menu, and the prices are very reasonable. They also have offers on most... More

Always been a bit of a fall back venue rather than a first choice, but then again Wigan isn't exactly blessed with good Restaurants, so it's always hard to compare. Our meal was OK, but nothing exceptional. First impressions weren't good last week. It was Bank a Holiday Monday around 6.00 and the restaurant was almost empty. Never the less... More

Made very welcome from arriving to leaving. Nothing too much trouble. Ate from the 2 course £12.95 menu and the food was good. Menu includes good fish and vegetarian choices. Can understand why it was so busy.

I visited this restaurant with my partner a few months ago. We received great customer service but on every occasion after its been harrendous. We treated our daughter to a family meal there thinking she would absolutely love it.We were rushed, our plates were cleared while our daughter was still eating, which is rude ( whether she Is a child...
