The food on offer was excellent and well cooked, the specials board was almost entirely fish based which was a slight problem for one of our party who is allergic to seafood of any description. But the main menu was very comprehensive. The staff were attentive and pleasant. Our only negative comment would be that it was so hot in... More

been here twice now. Once with locals from work and the second is when I met my mum and sister for my sisters birthday. I work near here so it's very handy for some food after work. The portions are nice. It's a posh pub, and won a lot of awards!

Cheers guys the food was great, steak was one of the best I have had for ages and my wife says the fishcakes were nice as well. Good staff. Men's toilet only had one light not working all else worked fine. The only negative was we could not get the WIFI to work we tried quite a few times.

We ate as a group on a Friday evening. The restaurant is small and on a weekend bookings are recommended. The menu choice is always changing, with a great variety of specials- generally seafood. I had a goats cheese "cheesecake" followed by a homemade gnocchi with rocket & sundries tomatoes. Both were excellent. The quality of the food is always... More

Went here for a family meal last night on a friends recommendation...the whole experience can only be described as excellent! The menu caters for everyone from fish lovers, with a huge array of fresh 'Specials', Vegetarians (not my cup of tea but even some of those menu options had me drooling!), to traditional meat & two veg! Parents went for... More

Took my Mother for lunch and she is a fussy eater being quite old. Wanted salmon but they only did smoked salmon which she doesnt like. She loves black pudding and spitted a home made black pudding and bacon fritter on the menu, she didnt realize it was only the beginning of the description and it was served with liver... More

Over the past two years we have had some superb meals at the Dicconson but our last two visits indicate that it is struggling to maintain consistency in the quality of service and value, On one occasion an ingredient was missing from the dish and on enquiring with a server why we were told the Chef 'forgot' to add it.... Visited this pub with some friends. Booked a table, then rang to try to add a couple more on to our table! Was told this wasn't possible as they were extremely busy!!!! This turned out to be untrue as the restaraunt was only a third full!!! Meal was tasteless and very over priced. Drinks were very expensive and they ran... More
