Went here for lunch with friends. Myself and another had sandwiches which were pleasant enough, and another ordered a pasta dish which looked lovely and you got lots. The price was average but reasonable for what you got. The surroundings and ambience is nice. The only thing lets this pub down is the service is mediocre and slow and the... More

I have just returned from yet another fantastic meal at this wonderful place. Sun shining, place buzzing, outside seating area rammed... about says it all really. Food wise... go and try it and don't be put off by some of the negative comments on here.. Chippy Sausage, wet menus, are we talking about the same place? I have just had... More

Went to this lovely off the beaten track pub... Didn't realise what we have been missing!! The food was sensational, the place has such character and the staff were extreamly helpful nothing was too much trouble, even bringing water for my dog. We visited on a busy Sunday afternoon and there was a little wait on food but as we... More

Been here loads of times and have also reccomend to friends, in the past you could not fault the place a real gem but of late something has slipped, tatty literally wet menus, slap dash service and the food? How can you justify ten pounds plus on a deep fried chippy sausage with a half empty can of chips and... More

Have been here many times for a bite to eat or a pint with friends. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Food is great. An especially find it satisfying sitting in front of the open fire with a real ale pint in hand. And all is reasonably priced, can bring your dog (an but dog treats) Just wished I lived... More

We have visited this restaurant numerous times and the food and service has always been good. The last visit was ruined by loud music. It was turned down at our request for 5 minutes but then came back up. Too loud also for the 20 somethings in the group. Told the manageress but her view was that you cannot please... More

I went with my husband using Groupon vouchers. We were given a lovely table in the very busy bar area and the atmosphere was great. Typical rustic country pub. The starter was homemade tomato and pesto soup and it was served with crusty ciabatta. It was fragrant, thick and very tasty. To follow we had the 12oz rump steak with... More

When we go we always feel comfortable and relaxed whether we are eating or just popping in for a drink or two. There is an excellent wine selection, an excellent real ale selection which is updated regularly and the food and menu is very good. Real fires, country feel and a friendly welcome and service makes for a very enjoyable... More
