Party of the ten for Christmas night out. Gorgeous starters and even better main course. Salmon was cooked to perfection and lovely fresh vegetables with it. Finished off with fudge cake and rum and raisin ice cream. We left stuffed and thoroughly enjoyed!

I would definitely recommend the Chicken Parmesan or the Sirloin. Both absolutely delicious and very well presented. Excellent portion size and wonderful... More

Huge portions. Good value for money. Lovely atmosphere. Child friendly. Fabulous chips. Proper pub food. One of our favourite places to eat. The plum duck is my favourite.

Very impressed by quality and quanity of food and value for money. Would recommend the "Black Magic" starter (black pudding, bacon and peppercorn sauce) was divine! For main I had the Mexican Parmo and it was delicious, accompanied by fresh veg and copious amount of fresh home made chips - still with the skins on - very yummy! The atmosphere... More

This well refurbished pub is impressive on every front: a very good choice of excellent well priced food from a menu with something for everyone, served in a warm, comfortable atmosphere. Excellent, friendly, efficient service coupled with, possibly the best 'proper' chips in Co. Durham (now there's a challenge) made for a superb family lunch, two days running. See you... More
