We have been here many times and not once have we had a bad meal. All food is freshly cooked, plenty of it and reasonably priced. We will continue to use this great place :-)

Travelled up here from Hartlepool the other night and were not disappointed!! Lovely pub with tons of choice on the menu. We went as a party of 7 and got seated quite quickly (considering it was a Saturday night). You can only reserve on parties of 8 plus. Not over priced and portions were very generous. The chips are unbelievable.... More

Visited this pub last night for a birthday meal and I have to say it was just lovely. We grabbed a table that had just left and the glasses were cleaned within a minute, the staff were friendly and attentive and the food was LUSH! Read other recent reviews about the restaurant and the quality and I must say there... More

Been visiting this pub for a few years now and whilst there may be a few reviews critical of certain aspects of service and one individual in particular , my advice would be " never judge a book by it's cover" She's a real softie at heart! The bonus of The Poachers is the quality of its food at prices... More

We visit the Poachers regularly and haven't been disappointed once. The quality of the food is really goo and the portion sizes are very generous. Whether you order from the main or light bite menu there's plenty of choice and both menus offer excellent value for money. If you're after real "pub grub" the Poachers is worth a visit. Only... I have been here several times for lunch and have never been disappointed. Good menu, especially the light bites, and don't forget to check the specials board! Very decent portion sizes. Only downside is that they could do with a better variety of beer as I would prefer an IPA or golden beer on offer. However, there is a lovely... More

Been to The Poachers many times and the food has always been excellent, massive portions and good quality. The lite bites menu during the day is great value for money too! The only let down to this place is the service from the older lady behind the bar, found her to be rude and miserable on a number of occasions... More

This pub/restaurant has now become a regular eating place for me and my friends. Great menu selection. well presented food. At a fair price. Good selection of beers and largers They do not take bookings and the weekends can be very busy but we have never not managed to get a table. if it is sunny there is outdoor seating.

Went for lunch on a Sunday, had to wait around 15 mins for table as it was really busy, so I would recommend reserving a table before hand. First time I have been there, was a nice pub like setting inside. The menu selection is not massive, not much to cater for vegetarians, or people like myself who are lactose... More
