Clean restaurant, reasonable pricing and the food is always great. The lite bite menu is normally what we opt for unless we're particularly hungry as the portion sizes are huge! I do always find it a bit strange having to order and pay for your drinks separate to your meals though.

Beautiful tasty home cooked food, huge portions and all at excellent value. Home cooked kids meals too, friendly staff can't do enough for you and this restaurant has plenty of character. Great for families, couples or friends

The Poachers is a hidden gem, impossible to just stumble across unless someone has recommended it to you! That said, it must get an awful lot of recommendations as it's always busy. The menu itself is expansive not to mention the huge range of specials on offer as well. The dishes are all fairly priced (five main meals for £50)... More

Was recommended this place by a work colleague who had been midweek. We called in on Sunday looking forward to a fantastic lunch!! Where do I start? On entering the building you couldn't move for bodies waiting. I was knocked on 3 occasions by staff rudely pushing past with no apology. I waited over 10 mins to order drinks which... More

I was taken here by my girlfriend who ate here many times growing up in the area. She promised hearty food in generous portions and I was not disappointed! She had a huge piece of cod and chips- the batter was thin and crispy and the fish very tender. I can vouch for the quality of the fish and chips... More
