Always a first time for every thing.

After a great afternoon in Durham we decided to have an early evening meal before returning home. A great welcome given by very pleasant staff members and drink orders were quickly taken. It was the specials that caught my eye as we perused the menu. Egged on by the group I was with, I bit the... read more

We decided to give this place a try after reading reviews we had table of 9 and it became clear very soon that the staff just were not up to the task of service a big table every time we wanted a drink they would say two minutes then five minutes later you would have to go to the bar... More

We have always been impressed with the food and service (since discovering the Court Inn last year) - but this evening left much to be desired. Served battered fish that was 'off' - salmon that was dry (microwaved?). When asked by staff how the meal was, and passing honest comments, the landlady could obviously hear the discussion but chose to... More

Excellent sunday lunch as always! Go there for dinner as often as possible,Fresh vegetables and a wide range including 3 types of potatoes, all food is fresh especially the giant yorkshires and 4 different types of succulent meat for an amazing price! Definetly worth it! Peter,Joanne and Sophie.

The Sunday carvery at the court inn is possibly the best in the north east. From the moment you enter the pub Trevor and his excellent staff make you so welcome. The court inn is a family run pub which also provides other fabulous choices of dishes. We were served within minutes of entering the pub even thow it was... More

I organised a lunch for a group of about 40 from work to celebrate the fact that we were all moving on and would be working elsewhere. I organised with The Court to produce a fixed price menu which included a glass of wine or similar drink and all the diners selected their orders well in time for the day.... More

Sounded like good reviews so wanted to try ourselves. Great choice of drinks and food and can sit in the pub or restaurant. Pub classics and quirky. I had crispy duck with tikka sauce and rice and my other half gammon, egg and chips. All really nice and good portion sizes.

After visiting here for a Sunday carvery I felt like I needed to write a review. The food was second to none, really tasty, very filling, can't reccomend it enough! Such a shame about the staff though - my partner and I were greeted by a young waitress who showed us to our table, waited around 10 minutes to be... More

After recommendations from my fellow train travellers we tried the Sunday lunch carvery today....we were not disappointed. Creamiest mash potato ever...crispy roasties huge yorkies.... fabulous tasting beef....I never get beef for Sunday lunch as tends to be chewy....so glad I did knife glided through.....can't wait to return. Owner was carving the meat and made every guest welcome...such a nice simple... More

We used to eat here quite often , but then it went down hill, recent positive reviews brought us back.....what a mistake. We Called in after work, tonight, hoping for a pleasant evening meal. The starters were alright but that's as good as it got. Some of our cutlery was dirty. The posh fish and chips were wet and over... More
