I can't explain why the barmaid had a bad night that night but the patron should have called the Landlord over because that's not what we experienced We spent a weekend away in Durham and stumbled across the Court Inn I asked for a specific Gin and was amazed that they had it.(monkey) The Landlord Trevor came across and explained... I have been to The Court Inn over many years when I previously lived in Durham and I enjoyed the pub for its great atmosphere, generous food and friendly staff. We decided to go elsewhere to eat on Christmas Eve as myself and my partner experienced unfriendiness from one particular barmaid when we asked for drinks at the bar and about... More

We went for Sunday dinner just before christmas 2014; we had been about a year ago before the carvery was set up and we were a little disappointed with the sunday meal set-up: having to fill the plate from a dish on the table, not much meat, and only 2 little bits of pork crackling. This time it was all... More

We sat outside this traditional pub in the warm sunshine in late September, enjoying their £6.75 lunch deal (mince and dumplings, jacket potato with cheese). Just by the County Court, hence its name. Not at all a bad.

Enjoyed drinks in the bar and thought there was a good atmosphere, it was very busy. Had a Christmas party night booked in, we were late being seated. The starter I had of garlic mushrooms was burnt. We were then told we could go the carvery, did not understand this as we had pre ordered food. As we were last... More

Met a friend in Durham today for lunch and fancied somewhere different, not your usual chain restaurant / pub. We were intending to go to Zen but weren't impressed with the menu so came over the road to the court in. Firstly we loved the cosiness of the pub, I prefer 'real' pubs to chain pubs. We were impressed with... More

Called in for lunch, ordered a Ham Sandwich. Food came quickly and was well presented. Lovely thick cut proper ham, huge portion of homemade/handcut chips and a delightful dressed salad. I asked for a portion of cranberry sauce and nothing was too much for the helpful staff. I couldnt manage all the chips, and left some of the bread. I... More

Actually quite a busy place with a kinetic atmosphere and interesting decor around the bar area but its small size becomes its biggest issue. They are trying to pack far too many people/chairs into their tiny eating space and they simply can't cope. Food, service and space available is all compromised due to the greed of the owners packing as many people... More

Had a really great time at the Court Inn .There were loads of different groups celebrating christmas but this made no difference to the service and the food both were very good. Portions were a good size and the carvery was great , All in all a great time was had by all
