As someone who visits Durham regularly for an afternoon/evening out, we ventured here after it had been recommended, and we never went anywhere else, without doubt one of the best bars in Durham. Not pretentious, limited outdoor seating but when you get a table in the sun you won't give it up, especially on the balcony/terrace. Ample seating indoors. Incredible... More

......pity about the raucous hen and stag dos that rather spoils the experience. We had some good burgers and great beer here. The draught and bottled selection from Europe and beyond is outstanding. But if you won't control the behaviour of some customers then I won't linger for another beer however good that is. Best avoided on a Saturday night.

Love this place, you can get a beer from pretty much any country in the world from here. I see people saying it is expensive, but tell me where you can get the same beers locally for cheaper. Nope you can't. The whole place has a buzz around it, with students, tourist and regulars getting their drink of choice. The... More

Fabulous draught Coppaberg cider and a sun terrace. What a great way to spend an afternoon. Bar service was very efficient and staff very friendly. We'll be back.

Tried this place whilst staying in Durham after reading the reviews. Went for Sat lunch, very busy with drinkers but managed to get a table . Great atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. Tried Bills place the following day and wish we had returned here. Definitely recommend !

Amazing Strawberry Beer - definitely worth visiting for! Staff and food are lovely but once you get a guzzle of the good stuff you will forget all that and soak up the chilled atmosphere. A winning pub!

Lovely pub, fantastic service, great food and best of all a brilliant atmosphere. Lots of bars/pubs in city centre are full of pretentious wannabees but not the head of steam. Anything goes, best beers around and it's just a lovely pub, very comfortable.

It's unusual to be able to order your burger rare these days but great. Unfortunately they had run out of pulled pork which reduced my rating to 4 otherwise it would have been a 5. Lively but friendly ambiance which worked well for our mixed generation party. Will visit again when not driving to better sample the impressive selection of... More
