Best bread I've eaten in England!

Rory's special ciabatta style bread (not ciabatta though, but a french recipe apparently) is the best bread you will eat anywhere, I mean that most sincerely folks! If you are looking for a REAL bread, that's made by an artisan baker you shouldnt look any further than Claypath Deli. It is... read more

I come here on a regular basis with my friends to catch up. It's so cosy and they do the best hot chocolate I have ever had for a price much lower than all the major chains! I've only eaten at the Deli once but it was amazing and all locally produced too. If you're in Durham City it is... More

We were highly recommended this place as a great eatery in Durham. Firstly it's a fair walk from the centre of Durham (especially with a pram) but we were told it was worth the walk. We got there and there wasn't any ideal tables that could accommodate said pram - however the staff went out of their way to help... More

Got to admit i was rushing around all day trying to get jobs done as i wasn't in durham long and I decided to pop into this place for a quick coffee, one of the most relaxing and tranquil coffees I've been in. Lovely jazz music playing in the background, free wifi and lovely brown leather sofas and wooden furniture,... More

This is without doubt the best coffee in Durham. I've tried them all so I should know. Great service and super nice people.

After a recommendation we decided to do the short walk up the hill. Delightful place with a great selection of paninis, sandwiches and cakes.

The Claypath Deli is a short uphill walk from the Market Place .It's a treat from the usual chain coffee shops and has a tempting array of sandwiches with olives ,sun dried tomatoes, hummos, Emmenthal cheese and lots more. Surroundings are comfortable with a comfy leather sofa and chairs , tables not to close together and a nice atmosphere on a... More

After reading reviews on tripadvisor I took my Mam to Claypath Deli today. A "grinder" sandwich (goats cheese, sun ripened tomato and olives), veggie platter (Goats cheese salad, hummus, olives, hallomi, bread and oil and sun ripened tomato), coffee (good quality americano) and can of pop (san pelligrino) came to £12.65. We shared everything and I was more than full.... More

Had a very good lunch-would go back in a heart beat. Nice atmosphere. It's a little bit of a walk from the square.
