Very enjoyable if a little 'hot'

This was a great restaurant. There was a quiet bar for conversation with business colleagues before we ate. The food and service were excellent and the Table d'Hote menu was very reasonably priced. There was a good choice of wines. I would certainly go there again.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend who lives in Durham when we were visiting for the weekend for my birthday. We were not disappointed. Great ambience, great menu choices, great food and great service. Highly recomended.

Finbarrs was buzzing on a Wednesday evening, they do the clever table thing, you know the one, when different sizes scattered as if at random throughout the open space, when really it creates rooms within rooms accommodate parties, families and romance with ease and equanimity. There is a correlation between talent and tariff. The talent is understated. The dining menu... More

Have frequented this restaurant twice now, it has excellent food. The steak here is the best I have ever tasted. The service is great efficient and polite staff. It's a really nice restaurant but expensive for what you get.

We booked Finbarr's restaurant for our Valentine's meal and we were not disappointed. Excellent dinner. Excellent service and lovely wine. I'd definitely recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for somewhere a little bit more special.

Recommended to this restaurant by a friend who couldn't sing it's praises high enough. We went for Sunday lunch and the food was of excellent quality and the set three course menu good value at around £23.00. Only one criticism is that it would be useful if they could give a more detailed description of the starters included on the... More

we hadn't realised that this restaurant was attached to a small hotel although most of the diners seemed to come from outside. It was slightly confusing, seemed on first glance to be modern, but then a little heavy and old-fashioned with white napery. The food was fine, but not particularly memorable. Sounds as if I'm damning with faint praise, but... More
