Three of us had Sunday lunch at Finbarr's, our first visit. The food more than lived up to our expectations, with a good variety of dishes on the à la carte and set menus. Everyone's three courses were flavoursome, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. This was food as good as we have had anywhere and good value; not cheap... More

Six of us enjoyed yet another excellent night out at this lovely restaurant. The atmosphere, staff, food and wine are first class and the time between each course being served is just right. The Christmas Fayre menu had a good and varied choice of food - much more than at most restaurants, so we were all happy with our chosen... More

My husband and I eat here about half a dozen times a year. The food is wonderful and the service is great and the ambiance suits us very well. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and do everything they can to ensure you have a lovely time.

We had high expectations of this place, but unfortunately, it did fail to deliver across the whole dinner experience. Pros: - Some of the food was excellent, such as the Haggis Scotch egg starter (though the haggis sauce was redundant) and seabass main. The portion sizes are good, particularly sides; - Varied and reasonably-priced wine list (we had an excellent... More

My wife & I had an excellent evening out at Finbarrs restaurant in Durham. The whole experience is something else, the food, the wine, the service, & not forgetting the atmosphere, absolutely fabulous. It's not our first time at Finbarrs, & certainly won't be our last. For a really relaxing evening out I would say Finbarrs will take some beating.... More

Visited here on a Monday evening expecting it to be a bit quiet - wrong! Not full but certainly a good atmosphere. Food was great (haggis scotch egg - awesome!) and service friendly and polite. Highly recommended.

Finbarr's is a top quality restaurant with a menu that gets the taste buds going. Great steaks especially the Chateau Briand. The ambience is great as is the service. Although not the cheapest restaurant in the area, the prices are well worth paying. There is also a hotel attached of which I have no experience of and a well stocked... More

This is one of the best little eateries in Durham. Nestled behind the pub and in front of flass vale, it serves tasty treats to suit all palates. It's attention to detail and fabulous food, makes it a great little getaway for fabulous food.

Went one Wednesday night with my husband, very quiet and relaxed. Food was very good and reasonably priced but wine was very over priced. All in all we had a lovely evening out.
