Amazing!

Brought my family here and they were very impressed! Didn't have to wait long for food (even though they were very busy).. Food was lovely and staff were very friendly. Everything was perfect.. Thank you for a great meal

We had an excellent meal with generous portions in a very pleasant dining room with attentive and courteous staff.

2 of us booked here on the recommendation of our B&B. We had the table d'hote menu which is 2 course for £17 or 3 for £19. We had pre-booked and got there early and were told we could either have a drink at the bar but if we wished we could go straight to our table which we did.... More

We went the night before graduation (and have been before), OK so the menu had "adjusted" for week so it wasn't cheap (£50 a head with drinks) but well worth it. Because of the graduation week the atmosphere was great. Excellent starters, tasty original and just the right amounts; main courses were great, duck and apricot (perfect), local steak (perfect)... We went to this restaurant to celebrate my goddaughters graduation. The earliest time we could get was 9pm but it was worth the wait. Despite them having a very busy service we were warmly welcomed and looked after extremely well throughout. There were 5 of us and we all enjoyed our tasty meals.

Visited here after a graduation and the food was absolutely amazing. Every course, every bite, every mouthful was just perfect. The steak was utterly superb and the millionaires shortbread was just perfect. Yeah, it's pricey, but it's a high end restaurant that's worth every penny.

Food was excellent for all 5 of us, especially my millionaire's shortbread, the best I have ever eaten, and puts all others completely to shame - well worth the price! Only downer was the comment by said head waiter when we ordered without starters that we were at the end of the ordering queue (on time as booked) and that... More

It was our second stay at the Kingslodge hotel but our first experience of Finbarr's. We had drinks in the bar first and were then shown to our table when the starters were ready. We had selected from the Table d'hote menu, which is very reasonably priced, given the quality of the food. The service was good and our meals... More

I love this place. The cheese soufflé and chateaubriand are the best things on the menu. The staff are great. The setting is nice but I feel the restaurant is not very intimate. Other than that I would recommend highly.

I have lived in and around the Durham area foe a number of years and, like most of us, have stuck to places I know. By chance Finbarr's was mentioned to me by a friend so decided to take a look for myself. Situated in a quiet corner of the city with ample parking and easy access we simply walked... More
