Visited with my son before University open day. Durham was very busy, most restaurants were full and we were very tired and hungry. This restaurant is in the main street, up some stairs and has great character as not part of a chain. Yes it was noisy, but very lively, we were quickly seated and in about 10 minutes after climbing... More

Me and the other half discovered this restaurant a grand total of 6 years ago now, and we've been going at every opportunity since! A restaurant that provides good food at even better prices with an even better atmosphere to match, knowing the owner of the restaurant as well as we do, we say hello whenever we see Fabio. Him... An overall great place - nothing fancy but good food, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. My partner and I eat here regularly and it's one of our favourite restaurants - definitely the best Italian in the area in our experience! Really good value for money too. Highly recommended.

Great food, nice atmosphere. It's a lovely place to eat. Gets busy but I guess that's a sign it's a nice place! We went as a couple and really enjoyed it.

This is a popular Italian restaurant in the centre of Durham. It is unpretentious and lively most nights. The food isn't out of this world, but neither are the prices, so it's perfect for the more informal occasion or just a spontaneous night out. We go fairly regularly as it is good value and has a buzz which makes for... More

We found this place on a Sunday evening at the end of the term for the University. We just followed the noise and the students. There wasn't a long wait. We both had pizzas. They were much like we've had in Italy. The Ciociana was with sausage slices, the Margherita pizza has cheese and tomato sauce (not quite a real... More

Good atmosphere, very busy even during the early evening. We visited on a Thursday night and all the tables were filled by the time we left at 7:30. Nice starter and bottle of wine, friendly staff, but I don't think they understood the term medium rare. Our steaks were cooked through and were therefore a little tough, thank goodness the... More

We just entered the restaurant... as a starter we ordered garlic bread (we didn't expect a pizza size bread ;-) ) Pizza, Risotto and Canneloni The waiter was friendly, we chatted about the Fifa worldcup (and the Italian Team) and enjoyed...
