Sunday lunch

Came here after not having visited for a while. I was surprised that there were only three or four other tables eating as this pub was usually pretty busy. We both had the roast beef offer, very nice starters, deep fried Brie and black pudding with poached egg. Served very quickly. The roast dinner... read more

A day trip to Piel Island brought us to the Ship Inn. As it is the only Hostelry on the Island it was a no brainer. The pub was a great experience, great local real ale, a very pleasant landlady, and historical enough to make us want to return again. .

Myself, my fiancee and her parents visited The Ship Inn during a short break a while back. We stumbled on the place and just went inside and grabbed a table. Two of us had steak pie, one had gammon and I had cheese and onion pie. The portion sizes were huge and none of us could finish our meals, but... More

Me and my partner visited The Ship Inn, our local pub on a Saturday night for a couple of drinks. Our food took 20 minutes to arrive which... More

We called in on Saturday tea time intending to have our tea if possible!! The place was empty at 5pm, only us and another couple having a drink apart from the staff. After ordering drinks at the bar we enquired if we could have a table for a meal...... None were occupied, however we were told NO.... Apparently according to... More

I don't like to leave negative reviews but I'm so sad to see this once great little pub, now serving up the rubbish we had. We've been here many times over the years and it always used to be nice. Sad to say that out of 20 meals ordered at a family celebration, only 4 people enjoyed theirs. The rest... More
