Me and my partner visited The Ship Inn, our local pub on a Saturday night for a couple of drinks. When we arrived we sat down in the main restaurant area with our drinks and ordered two portions of chips from the main menu, giving our table number, which was not queried. Our food took 20 minutes to arrive which... More

We called in on Saturday tea time intending to have our tea if possible!! The place was empty at 5pm, only us and another couple having a drink apart from the staff. After ordering drinks at the bar we enquired if we could have a table for a meal...... None were occupied, however we were told NO.... Apparently according to... More

I don't like to leave negative reviews but I'm so sad to see this once great little pub, now serving up the rubbish we had. We've been here many times over the years and it always used to be nice. Sad to say that out of 20 meals ordered at a family celebration, only 4 people enjoyed theirs. The rest... More

I like the Ship and the food is good but the waiting time is horrendous. Last time I was in I waited up to 40 minutes to be served and it took as long again for the food to arrive. No wonder they always struggle for the availability of tables. They must as I like it they must improve of... More

Party of 20 on a Sunday afternoon, late as usual for a large party, did pre order but no use if your late, ordered beef and lamb could not wait to eat and grabbed first plates out many big parties do this, when pointed out to waitress we rectified the meals sent but some of your party do not know... Called in for tea earlier this evening.....to be honest, because we'd left it too late to book anywhere else. Had read poor reviews previously but thought we'd give it a go. Not the best meal ever, unfortunately. Had to wait around 40 mins for our meals & it wasn't overly busy. Food ok on the whole. Husband had sea bass... More

Very greasy food. Onion rings not paid for due to dripping with fat . Fish swimming in grease, chips anaemic, steak poor quality. Had to ask for onion rings, despite ordering, then came near end of meal with little apology. Service was slow, inadequate and lacklustre. Will not be returning despite being local, many many better eating spots in the area.
