Good food

I like the Ship and the food is good but the waiting time is horrendous. Last time I was in I waited up to 40 minutes to be served and it took as long again for the food to arrive. No wonder they always struggle for the availability of tables. They must as I like it they must improve of... read more

I don't like to leave negative reviews but I'm so sad to see this once great little pub, now serving up the rubbish we had. We've been here many times over the years and it always used to be nice. Sad to say that out of 20 meals ordered at a family celebration, only 4 people enjoyed theirs. The rest... More

Called in for tea earlier this evening.....to be honest, because we'd left it too late to book anywhere else. Had read poor reviews previously but thought we'd give it a go. Not the best meal ever, unfortunately. Had to wait around 40 mins for our meals & it wasn't overly busy. Food ok on the whole. Husband had sea bass... More

Very greasy food. Onion rings not paid for due to dripping with fat . Fish swimming in grease, chips anaemic, steak poor quality. Had to ask for onion rings, despite ordering, then came near end of meal with little apology. Service was slow, inadequate and lacklustre. Will not be returning despite being local, many many better eating spots in the area.

By the time we'd cut the fat off it was the size of a small burger! Completely overpriced and when we mentioned it to the waitress she didn't offered any compensation unfortunately my boyfriend is too laid back to refuse to pay I on the other hand didn't realise or I would have refused to pay
