Visited with friends today! Food and service fantastic and a great welcome by the staff! I had the lamb kidneys to start followed by the phesant sausage and cheesecake for desert. Go check it out

Having visited the Masons arms last summer with my wife, an experience I was not overly impressed with, my wife was taken by the setting and the sweet she had after her lunch. As we were back in the area for a short break, and as a birthday treat for my wife, she decided she would like to have an... More

Perfect cosy country pub with real fires and delicious food. Friendly and welcoming, great atmosphere. Called in for a pub lunch before a walk up Gummers How. The soup and the sandwich were tasty and good value, service was good and served quickly, good portion sizes. Although too cold to sit outside in February, the outdoor seating looked inviting for... I have regularly visited the Masons Arms, when I can find it, over the years and whilst I regret the removal of the Belgian fruit beer on tap and one of the largest collections of bottled beer in the North the place retains its atmosphere and the food is hearty, well made and plentiful. The little quirky rooms are fun... More

After reading reviews we decided to dine at the Masons Arms. We squeesed onto a small table in the bar area but there were 2 other tables which could probably seat about 7 people by the fire. These were occupied by 2 people who were neither eating or drinking, but chatting to a member of staff who we presumed was... More

Visited on a wild and wet January night with my wife. Squid to start and Lamb Chops for main course, both excellent. Diane had Mushroom Blue Cheese Parcel followed by Steak n Kidney Pie. Good size portions, great taste and service. Chips not our taste as very big and chunky. Not many tables so book our get there early. Well... More

Great food with fantastic atmosphere and real ale, topped off with the most amazing views! Nice to see the nutty black on and tasting good, only down side is the driving aspect as would have enjoyed a nice session with some old friends! Will be back at the end of the month for a family Sunday lunch , 20 +... More

We visited between Christmas and New Year and we were glad we had booked as it was busy. As we are local we were expecting a good quality meal as we have never heard anyone say anything negative about this venue. It's a lovely proper pub complete with roaring fire. Everyone enjoyed their meals and as everyone had chosen something... More

I've been to the Masons Arms once before and wasn't too keen, although I admit that was my own fault for ordering something which I wasn't sure I would like. Decided to try it again this weekend and I'm glad I did. The food was delicious (I had Thai fritters to start and a venison and vegetable stew for main),... More
