Fantastic, classic pub

Had a fantastic meal here, left feeling so impressed. The setting is lovely and very authentically Lake District. Staff were wonderful and polite. Most importantly, the food was brilliant. I ended up having three courses despite being almost horribly full after mains! The thai crab fish cakes were delightful, as was the carrot, honey and ginger soup my boyfriend had.... More

Ate here a few times, love the fact some of the dishes have a lighter portion available. This is great as most the time the children's meals look big enough for me! The food is really nice - even the fish and chips was a treat. Chips were handmade and the fish tasted very fresh. I've also had the fish... More

Came for lunch on a Monday and it was quiet inside. Friendly bar staff/waitress and out food came fairly quickly. We all went for a burger and fries and it was one of the best I've had. Wild boar and damson...superb! Freshly cooked skinny fries in the side and it seemed like enough until one of us suggested deserts. Sticky... More

Have stopped here a few times for a pint when walking and always thought the food and menu looked great. Very disappointed yesterday when I ordered a 'Cumberland hot dog' in a soft white roll. I mistakenly expected a locally made Cumberland sausage. Instead I was presented with a huge, dyed pink, synthetic flavoured hot dog in a cheap white... More

This place was recommended to us by a friend....and just wow! An interesting drive up the fell.....you need a head for heights but trust me the views are like nothing else. It feels like a dream! The Masons is lovely, really well decorated and very pretty outside, a great welcoming start. It's a bit quirky inside, but this adds to... More

Great little find whilst out on a Sunday! We were lucky enough to get a table without booking, however others had to wait for a while and some travelling 2hrs to get in! Food gorgeous and great service! not overpriced too! would return!

We had a lovely meal at the Masons Arms over the weekend. The place was very busy but the food and staff where excellent. We were seated upstairs in their restaurant and all throughout our meal we could her the soft whine of a dog every so often. Rather perplexed (thinking we were hearing things as the pub has a... Visited for evening meal. Pleasant surroundings in the old coaching inn. We were seated in the restaurant upstairs rather than the bar area which was pleasantly decorated although some of the seats are perhaps a little less than comfortable. The food when it arrived was well presented and very tasty with the exception of the smoked haddock.scampi and lemon fish... More
