Popped up to the lakes for our anniversary and take the kids out for tea, plus stayed here a few times and we love the place, we ate off the mid afternoon menu which was full of good food, all a good price, you can pay far to much in the lakes but this place has got it right good... More

Food - excellent, sea bream was so fresh and perfectly juicy and tender, fish and chips is huge with hand cut chips and the crispiest batter I've ever had, belly pork with edible crackling, ribs were so tasty. Service - very personal, fresh cutlery for every course and side plates if we didn't came in a flash Price - too... More

I come here every time I come to the Lakes from Manchester for at least one meal or drink. The staff are warm and friendly and help is always at hand. New chairs outside are very comfy too, recommend getting there early for a seat!

The food was absolutely amazing and views spectacular especially if the weather good and you can sit outside. I would advise booking for the upstairs restaurant as you cannot book for the bar area. We got there about 7pm and had ben waiting for an hour for a table in the bar area as it was too cold to sit... More

After ten years away I thought it likely that standards would have slipped. Remarkably the atmosphere and food were as good as I remembered. Whitebait, not commonly available in much of the country, was a delight. It was lightly coated in a pleasing mix of spices. My daughter had a superior fishcake with a creamy sauce and I had a... Joined friends for lunch. Good menu choice and staff initially helpful. Two of us ordered a main course off the 'specials' menu. It tasted excellent however the portion side was very disappointing; only marginally larger than a 'starter' size and costing over £15. We were further disappointed when we were told that no deserts were available due to there now... More

Came here for lunch with my partner, it was both our first time here and thought it was great. The Choices on the menu were superb, the atmosphere and layout of the place was just right. Staff could have been more engaging though, not a lot of effort was put in to help us find our own table.

Regularly visit here when up in the lakes. It's a good old fashioned pub in a great spot (although parking is a nightmare!). be careful with your starters because the main course sizes are generous!
