Great meal with the family. This place gets very busy so be warned and book well in advance! We ate early at 6.30 and had no problem getting a table then but it soon filled up. Staff were super polite and friendly and the food was fab, good size portions and good value. We came here on a recommendation and... More

Went along for a birthday meal and everyone enjoyed everything :-) I had the belly pork with boulengaire potatoes and braised red cabbage followed by strawberry meringue. The belly pork was well seasoned and cooked perfectly with THE best crackling I've tasted. The braised cabbage was sweet and slightly acidic which was a good combination with the richness of the... While on a walk from lake Windermere we came across the mason arms and had lunch here. The outside patio was very comfortable and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to eat.the puddings were to die for! Sticky toffee and the Eaton mess are our recommendations.

Second visit in six months. What a great place. My advice would be to book a table and parking can be tricky. Great food and cracking atmosphere. Super service all round. Well done

Sunday late lunch, looked busy but appealing. Plenty of seating inside and out, locally sourced food, fabulous choice, friendly and efficient.

We've been staying in the village of Crosthwaite and have been truly spoilt for choice with at least 3 great pubs within less than 2 miles of our cottage (and that excludes the Brown Horse which we just couldn't fit in!) - not bad for such a remote place! This was our final lunchtime stop on a very rainy day... More

Took my son here on Friday afternoon, and it was so good that we returned with my wife on Saturday lunchtime. On both occasions we sat outside in the new shaded area because it was a hot day. I was driving but they have Fentimans drinks so I was fine, while my son tried the extensive beer selection. Between us... More

Well priced and tasty home cooked food, good service and a welcoming atmosphere. We had Venison burgers, fish and chips. Amazing/gorgeous views of the fell and plenty of outdoor seating. A must do visit if u are holidaying in the area. We sat in the bar area on a monday night. The dining room was fully booked and we just... More

Dined here as family Saturday 5.15. No tables available outside, but plenty to choose from indoors. We ordered at the bar ribs as a starter,a full ribs for the kids to share with some fries(ample for 2 children),a fish and chips and the belly pork. The food arrived in good time except for the fries that should of come with kids... More

Popped up to the lakes for our anniversary and take the kids out for tea, plus stayed here a few times and we love the place, we ate off the mid afternoon menu which was full of good food, all a good price, you can pay far to much in the lakes but this place has got it right good... More
