A beautiful village pub in the middle of nowhere, outstanding views from the beer garden and great roaring fires inside. Food was absolutely first class, as was the service. The guest ales were pretty good too. Proper pub fare with a quality chef input. The Steak and Kidney pie was unquestionably the best i've ever had! If you are anywhere... More

This is a beautiful pub. Tiny, friendly and traditional. We visited this after the chap in Unsworth's Yard Brewery in Cartmel recommended it. Also worth a visit if you like your traditional ales and beers. Anyway back to the pub. We only popped in for a small bite for lunch and it was very busy which is often a good... More

We were recommended this pub for our recent visit to the Lakes and were so glad that we went. We visited at lunch time and found warming fires, friendly staff and good quality well prepared and presented food.

We arrived at half six on a Saturday evening in March and we were very glad we had booked a table as they were having to turn people away. It seems to be a very popular place and I can see why. The staff were friendly from start to finish without being overbearing. We were shown to our seats in... More

Q: How many pubs can you arrive at on a Monday lunchtime and are pretty much full? Answer: well, not many I know of, but was certainly one! What a great first impression; it's in the middle of nowhere, with a view to die for, and just looks so inviting. No wonder there's accommodation here, I bet lots of people... More

Stopped at this beautiful little place with wonderful views for a pub lunch. Weather was really beautiful and unfortunately all the outside tables were full. However lots a tables inside and the service was really friendly. Food was just first class and good value for money. Would highly recommend.

Ate here as recommended by the B&B we were staying at nearby. A lovely cosy place with gorgeous food. Had the ribs to start and the portion was huge! Food as lovely and reasonably priced.

We had really been looking forward to a meal at the Masons Arms - my husband had been here, about 20 years ago and always wanted to go back. We had dinner at this restaurant for my son's 16th birthday. The service was friendly and a lovely warm ambiance about the place. The menu had a fabulous selection and once... More
