I visited the Spinnery with my partner for dinner, however what we experienced was enough to put many off from eating out ever again. We ordered a terrine starter which was horrible, the chef must have forgotten his salt n pepper when making it. For mains we ordered lamb shank and a burger. The burger looked as if it had... More

Also string in the turkey sandwich. To be fair, the owner offered drinks on the house due to the 45 minute wait for a sandwich

Found the Spinnery whilst out searching for a Sunday roast. Was very good value. £7.95 each.We both had a roast, lamb and beef and we were really pleased. Large portions and piping hot. Waitress was lovely and welcoming. The decor is a bit dated so if your looking for modern this isn't the place. We just thought it was in... More

Lovely old pub where the menu looked good. The wine list was good. The food was a disappointment, the ingredients did not taste fresh and the fish pie is definitely worth a miss!

First time at the Spinnery and over all, the downstairs surroundings were that of a country pub. We had Salmon and Venison pie, quality was good but not great, service was quick and attentive but we were one of only two in at the time, so maybe this helped, prices average for Bowness but no draught beer, only bottle was... We popped in here for lunch on a wet afternoon. From the outside The Spinnery looks quite modern, but the inside is something else! The wood cladding makes it very dark, the floral patterns are pretty cheesy and the carnations on our table (and every other) were dead! The food was reasonably priced and fairly tasty; we both had the... More

All feeling hungry, so looked appetising on the menu, cokes were flat, but the waitress seemed to think it was down to the ice... Asked for fresh orange instead, but was obviously carton juice! I had a spicy Cajun ciabatta, came toasted soaked in butter, and two small grilled chicken breasts! Nothing spicy or tasty about them! Hubby had ham... More

Great food and pretty good service and not bad value the only problem for myself there was no draught beers available which meant the bottled were expensive but never the less we enjoyed the food.

We ate here last night and I sent back my cod as it wasn't cooked. When it came back I just couldn't face it as it looked grey and had a very strange texture. My husband thought his meal was a bit bland. There are lots of places to choose from in Bowness so please choose somewhere else!
