Linthwaite House Hotel restaurant overlooking Lake Windermere in the sublime Lake District is a very special place indeed. With views that would have thrilled Wordsworth, Linthwaite House Hotel has chosen luxurious, tasteful interiors to please even the most jaded urbanite and the kitchen, under chef Simon Bolsover, is daring and modern too. Fresh, local ingredients conspire in a signature dish like 60 Degree Herdwick Lamb with braised neck kataifi, cep and kidney risotto. Choose from light lunch menu on the terrace, daily changing table d’hote menu or simpler a la carte in the elegant dining room, with its vast mirror collection, in the evenings, vegetarian menu, or trad Sunday lunch, all accompanied by a blistering global wine list.

Friendly welcome. Beautiful views and lovely gardens. Enjoyed aperitifs sitting on big squishy sofa looking down towards the garden and lake. Elegant dining room with relaxing feel. Food was presented beautifully and tastes were wonderful, obviously a great chef. The selection of breads were good and left on the table, which were hard to resist! Service of a very professional... We ate here on two occasions as part of a couple of days well earned rest. For me its certainly a 'special' restaurant / meal in that its not something Id do on a regular basis, not because its not that good but mainly out of personal choice and unless your particularly 'well heeled' it would certainly have an impact... Lovely afternoon, sun shining Nice hotel, view amazing Food very nice and plentiful It should be a Cumbria challenge to finish everything, nice to be able to take what's left home in a box and share with the kids! Service was efficient, polite but you did get the distinct feeling that the residents were priority, they got a little chat... More

Afternoon tea courtesy of a voucher off son & daughter in law. Lovely conservatory with fab views. Great sandwiches, sausage rolls & a selection of cakes/dessert/scones with jam & cream to die for. Couldn't possibly eat it all, but it was lovely.

If you enjoy fine dining and are in area this is the place for you. The hotel has fabulous views across lake Windermere. The first stage of the 'dining experience' is being taken into a lounge that makes the most of these views and you can even sit outside while you peruse the menu if the weather is good. I've... Amazing location. Simply amazing. A hotel that fails to disappoint - not cheap. Family friendly, dogs allowed in a kennel nearby. I think it's probably better for lunch than dinner.
