Visited with friends for lunch, lucky to find a table as very popular. Excellent food and good atmosphere, quick service and good value. Recommended. Try the chilli wedges, delicious.

Pub allows dogs and is a old looking pub that looks like youve gone back on time with no TVs so you can chat. Service good. Food well priced and cooked well. Only issue i have is being served frozen carrots - they arent as tasty as fresh

The family and I wanted a change from our regular selection of Indian/Chinese/fast food/kebabs/Italian so I opted for the Old John Peel. Please don't ponder as to why I decided on a pub; perhaps it was because I harked back to my days of relative youth. Anyway, we rushed to the OJP to escape the rain one evening while visiting... Lovely food and good service. Plenty of seating. Friendly staff. We had the gammon which was huge and Cajun chicken.
