Traditional pub, great food, good Ales, funny "rules" on the table. If taxidermy makes you antsy, maybe don't go, there's a few stuffed critters. The decor was cool though, lots of random pub style nick-knacks and tons of cow shaped creamers on the ceiling. They had the fires going for the chilled January night, so it was a place we... More

Say no more. Traditional surroundings, and good beer. Great place for a quick pint or a session. No need to waste 50 characters

Have visited and enjoyed this pub many times over the last 25 years. How sad that it has become just another tourist hole with poor service and worse than average food at inflated prices ... I was so looking forward to another enjoyable visit today but what a disappointment. No welcome or hospitality and £9.95 for frozen cod goujons with... More

Been here many times over the years with my fiancée then wife and this year with our (almost 3 year old) son. Not only is it a good pint in a great setting with decent prices and a great English menu but the staff are really welcoming as are the locals. Can't wait for our next visit.

As others have reported, this is an old pub - stone floors, stuffed animals (rabbit, hare, fox, pheasants) hanging up or on the walls. Our party was two grandparents, two parents and a well-behaved 3-year-old girl for a Thursday lunch. The pub was very quiet so the service was very good. The food is "typical pub grub". The chilli nachos (£6.95)... More

You have to search out this Pub down back streets and alleys - but, worth the effort. As with every British Pub, get your drinks first then check out the menu, order at the bar. Plenty of local beers/ales to choose from. There was no complaints about the meals. Take care the meals are served at your table which in... More

Had a lovely winter afternoon spent in this establishment. The staff were lovely ESPECIALLY the very friendly barman which I think was the manager. He was very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. The food was nice and the atmosphere of the pub with its roaring fire was perfect. I will be returning.

Stumbled on this little gem, friendly staff and food was amazing. Ordered the BLT sandwich and what came was a great twist on the traditional sandwich. A must for anyone who wants to chill and have s drink or food. Great...
