Lovely little pub which is relatively easy to find, yet tucked away from the crowds. The atmosphere is great, the food and drink is probably leaning on the average side of things, but in all honesty it doesn't really matter given the overall experience. I will definitely visit it again.

Visited this pub with my boyfriend! We stayed 2 nights and choose to eat here on the second! We only wish we had on our first night so we could eat there a second time! The drink is great, the service welcoming and the food was typical pub grub but of excellent standard! There were no small portions here either,... More

Our favourite lakeland pub - great beer & pub grub - just away from the throngs of windermere. Cosy ...even on a wet day

What a great pub in the heart of Bowness. Wonderful atmosphere both inside and out ( if the weather allows). The interior is just amazing and the stain-glass window in the smaller bar at the rear is just stunning. Service is always warm and welcoming and the food is great. Anything from a light-bite to a full meal. I recommend... More

Just called in for a drink whilst visiting Bowness via the Lake Cruise. Lovely refreshing white wine and elderflower spritzer, was on the specials summer drinks. Hubby was thrilled with the choice of Real ales. Lunches looked lovely and will probably try them on our next trip.

Slightly off the beaten track is this delightful traditional pub with beamed ceilings and interesting decor (stuffed animals hidden in every corner!). Food and drink is very reasonably priced, and the service is great. We are vegetarians and while the options are quite limited they are very tasty. The side salad is fresh and delicious - not like most pub... More

This is a smashing little pub. Good selection of ales and a great environment! Make sure that you check out the house rules and stick to them! A great place for a relaxing drink. Hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets.
