Just called in for a drink whilst visiting Bowness via the Lake Cruise. Lovely refreshing white wine and elderflower spritzer, was on the specials summer drinks. Hubby was thrilled with the choice of Real ales. Lunches looked lovely and will probably try them on our next trip.

Slightly off the beaten track is this delightful traditional pub with beamed ceilings and interesting decor (stuffed animals hidden in every corner!). Food and drink is very reasonably priced, and the service is great. We are vegetarians and while the options are quite limited they are very tasty. The side salad is fresh and delicious - not like most pub... More

This is a smashing little pub. Good selection of ales and a great environment! Make sure that you check out the house rules and stick to them! A great place for a relaxing drink. Hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets.

Heading home from Blackpool we took a detour through Bowness and stopped at this fab wee pub. We were lucky that the weather was decent enough to sit out. We enjoyed a fabulous Scampi and chips and fish pie. Both were very generous portions and came with lovely salad and a singer / guitarist to entertain! Would absolutely recommend.

The Hole in t' wall was the best pub we visited in Bowness. The outside was packed (see photo) with a really good buzzy atmosphere. Inside there was a traditional bar and in another room a band playing. We didn't eat there but for sheer atmosphere I would recommend a visit.

There are better places in Bowness although it is quite quaint. Didn't sample the food so cannot comment. Good choice of Ales.

A quirky pub with lots of jugs hanging from the ceiling. Lit candles on all the tables in the evening. Great local ales. A very old building with lots of charm. Great atmosphere! Plenty of room outside if you want to sit out.
