I visited this warm restaurant-pub as it was suggested to me as something exceptional from my hotel's receptionist. And it was true. It's like being introduced in a warm lovely country cottage house. You open the door and you see almost all tables occupied by customers, but the ambience is exquisite. Wooden roof covered by hanging porcelain traditional old cups,... More

Loved the atmosphere of this old pub. Pleasant staff, good choice of beers. Pity about closing times mid week and at weekend, would loved to have stayed longer

Back here to top up our loyalty card. Best pub in England in my book. Four of us had lunch which was very good. Beef curry for £9 which was massive and good quality. Good beer, top scran and a roaring fire, result.

Great little pub of the beaten track, very old with a great seating area outside,(if the weather is ok) we had lunch twice here, and can highly recommend.

I always visit this pub with my family when we stay in Bowness. It has a lovely log fire, although I've never managed to get the table next to it due to the pub being so popular. Great bar with an extensive selection of ales. Staff are friendly and welcoming and there's always a good atmosphere. One of my favourite... More

Such a great little pub. Full of character and a really pleasant place to have a drink and relax. Lovely fires burning and very pleasant staff. We didn't eat this time but wished we had! Next time....!

I went to the Hole in t'Wall with my sister, my 10 yr old son and baby niece and nephew. We found it to be very welcoming and friendly. Food was fab! Large portions and very delicious-can definately recommend the beef madras and the lamb Henry! Only downside was no highchairs

Went here for a drink, slightly off Main Street but worth finding, welcoming open fire and a host of ales to choose from, although we didn't eat there food looked amazing and would definately go back on our next visit. This place is definately worth a visit.
