Superb

Found this Tea room by accident whilst roaming round Bowness on a cold wet & windy day. We were made very very welcome by the owner who happened to be from my my home town in Lancashire. We had a good reminisce about the town and people we knew. Anyway, we only wanted a drink when we went in but... read more

The staff were pleasant, the restaurant was small but cosy. We ordered jacket potatoes, milkshakes, teas and coffees which were all nicely cooked. There were desserts available too. The setting wasn't as fancy as I'd hoped, but the place was really nice overall.

Another delicious meal at St Martins Tea rooms. The home made hot pot was delicious. Even though I was full after eating the hot pot, I could not resist the temptation of the home made cakes. They tasted as good as they looked. The staff are always friendly. We can never go to he Lakes without calling in at the... More

Visited recently whilst staying in Bowness for a couple of days. Really warm welcome from the owners who seem to take real pride in what they do. Although we only had drinks which were served in lovely china, the cakes, sandwiches etc looked really delicious. Service was efficient and friendly, will definitely eat there next time we are in the... More

My family and I came across St Martins without using TripAdvisor and are happy to say we had a good lunch whilst passing through on our way home. Friendly staff and accommodated our requests without any fuss. I had the winter hotpot with black pudding which was great. Reading another review about the cakes, they do serve a mixture of... More

I visited St martins yesterday and I have to say the homemade cheese scones were to die for. I then spoke to the owner about purchasing another 12 so I could take them home for family and friends. He didn't have enough, but said he would make some more if I would like to come back later. Which we did... More

Positive things- friendly welcome nice set up all looked great Negative things- don't tell the customer you have made the cakes fresh that morning when they are from Costco. You can even taste they aren't homemade! I couldn't actually believe it, I would rather someone be upfront and say they bought the cakes in as they can't bake! If you... More

We found this by chance on tripadvisor on our way back from the lakes yesterday afternoon. Had we not look at the reviews before we would have probably walked straight past but really glad we didn't! The food was excellent and very well presented and there was a good choice of cakes too! We both had chilli with rice which... More
