Fantastic little gem

Had a wonderful afternoon tea today, amazing value for £8.95!! Lovely, fresh and home made, far better than tiny little bits on a fancy cake stand that you generally get with afternoon teas. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and would definitely recommend it.

Called in for breakfast on the way home after our stay in the lake's. My hubby had full English and a coffee and I had gluten free toast as it's great to find a cafe that caters for us coeliac sufferers. Food and drinks were fab will defo be returning

We stopped only for a cup of tea and slice of cake but were both pleasantly surprised by the hospitality. The owner was very informative about the area and took time to find out what we liked, and made some recommendations. Appreciate this might not always be possible when busy but it was a nice touch. The cake was great... More

Half decent little cafe with friendly staff. Food is a little over priced and the quality wasn't great. Bacon was boiled cheap basic stuff, could have been nice local bacon. Coffee was burnt tasting and too hot to drink. I probably wouldn't be desperate to go back. There are definitely better in in the area - but it wasn't the... More

A small and cozy cafe with a huge friendly welcome! We bobbed in with our dog, who was also welcomed, for a quick breakfast snack. Amazing lattes which just hit the spot and I would go as far as saying it was the best coffee drink of the day. We both went for breakfast bagettes which were very tasty and... More

Decided to try breakfast here due to good reviews on TA. We agree the breakfast was good and set us up for a day of walking. Owner friendly & helpful, would return.

Small cafe serving a good range of cafe food. What I liked about this cafe was being served. The waiter was friendly and very efficient. When a group of 12 came in there was no fuss, no drama even though they took up half the cafe.

Lovely late breakfast there this morning. Nice food clearly made with good ingredients, and a convivial host. Good value too. A little more strength in the coffee, and swapping the brown sauce and ketchup for HP and Heinz respectively, and it would easily be 5 star.

We visited Bowness on Easter Sunday; it was heaving! Trying to find a place to eat was looking like it might be a chore, until we found The Two Eggcups. Tucked away behind the main street, it was less crowded so we were easily able to get a table. The man who served us was friendly and very polite, he... More
