Stopped for evening drink.....

Only in the area for one night so after a lovely meal in nearby restaurant we stopped off for a night cap. We sat in a lovely furnished Conservatory type room with a great atmosphere and enjoyed a couple of drinks. Restaurant looked very nice and had been well used that evening.

Couple of pints of ale here, fresh, clean and great garden overlooking the rooftops and lake. Friendly staff always nice to see at busy periods. Very nice oyster stout too.

Stopped for lunch today having been round the Beatrix potter exhibition. Food was very good, service excellent and surroundings very pleasant. Definitely worth a visit and will return at some point.

We had a 3 course meal for 2 at the Angel Inn in Bowness last night, all 3 courses were excellent. The waitress that served us was very attentive and polite. We both had the Seabass from the main menu and it was absolutely delicious, I also had a Tiramisu from the specials menu which was absolutely superb! Three courses... More

We went for lunch today (19th May). The staff were very friendly and offered our dog a bowl of water straight away. The food was very nice - especially the fish and chips. The sea bass was also lovely but a bit on the small side unfortunately. We would happily go again when in the area.

My partner and I enjoyed an evening meal here on Mon 11th May. We had booked a table in advance via their website and had a quick reply to confirm the booking. We arrived early so reported in at the bar and then enjoyed a drink first before being shown to our table. There was the main menu and also... More

Had been recommended this restaurant from the owner of the B&B we had been staying with and couldn't fault it. Got there late on the Saturday night and was told there was a half an hour wait but could get a drink at the bar. 15 minutes later we were sitting down. Service was very prompt and all food tasty.... Ordered 8 coffees with various tipples...they were all undrinkable and tasted of strong coffee beans bitter. When approached staff they were adimant that they were correct and wouldn't help or offer anything else. "If we make them again they will just taste the same". Even though in the afternoon we had one and they were fine.... not good service. ..we... More

on the last night of our break we chose this - a list of restaurants at our holiday cottage had this one circled (we hoped it was for the right reasons!). We were really impressed by the welcome, the selection of real ales and (most importantly) the quality of the food. This was a la carte food at pub prices... More
