This place is a pub and restaurant. The decor is very modern and the bar area is quite large with a big alfresco area. The bar gets quite busy at the weekends as it's a lot trendier than your normal Lakes pub. The restaurant is very nice and our meal was very nice, the staff were eager to help but... More

Thank you for your great comments. It is great to hear how much you enjoyed the food, service and decor. We have also just installed additional outdoor heaters so you can take advantage of the large outside seating area even on the cold nights! More

We were at a caravan site in Bowness with our Motor Home, for a 4 night break and decided to eat out twice. On the first evening we looked at the menus at the various Restaurants in Bowness, ready to eat out the following evening. Funnily enough we didn't see The Village Inn until the following evening and the menu... More

Went to you're city in a buisiness trip and heart of this restaurant from an old friend. This got to be the best food and service we've had in a long time. P.S. 1: I manage to sign a wonderfull contract probably because of the warm ambiance and lovely staff. P.S.2 Helen was really friendly and helpfull. Thank you for... More

Thank you, Eugen H! I am delighted you enjoyed your visit so much, and that we were able to aid your contract signing! I will pass your comments on to Elena as good feedback like yours is always a welcome pat on the back for all the hard work that Elena, and the rest of the team, put in. More

I visited the restaurant on a Saturday night with some friends..It was little crowded but we were met by someone from the staff nice foreign girl think. She said that currently does not have a table available but if you wait a bit in the lounge and drink something she will led us to a table. We didn't expect more... More

We had been for drinks the previous night and loved the décor and setting. Unfortunately the food was not as we would have expected for such a lovely place. We went for Sunday lunch which was £14.95 for one course and was truly awful. I am aware that vegetables are commonly cooked Al Dente but these were raw!!!! A nice... More

I am very saddened by your review as our Sunday lunch is very popular, and having just finished a plate myself, I really do think the kitchen excel on this dish. The beef is Hereford beef, which is of excellent quality. We have recently taken on a new chef who we did find was cooking his veg al dente to... More

Visited the village in as the barmaid in another pub recommended it. She must have had a good laugh, still expecting someone to jump out with a camera and explain it was a set up. Nice interior a lot of money has been spent on it, but the food and drinks..... wow. I've never had a burger on ciabatta a... More

I find your comments about drinking petrol rather offensive. We do try to offer a wide range of premium lagers, and a lager shandy is actually £3.90. For anybody to compare supermarket prices and produce to that of a pub strikes me as an uneducated comment. I can assure you that if we could buy beer and make the profit... More

We visited the Village Inn on a one night visit to Bowness. We had to wait 45 minutes for a table as it was extremely busy. However the bar area is very nice, with comfortable seating. Dogs are welcome in this area. We went through for our meal. For starters I ordered the Crayfish and my husband had Whitebait. The... More

Thank you for your comment. The peppercorn sauce is made to please everyone, not just one individual. It is served as an accompaniment - the price of the dish reflect the quality of the steak used, the sauce is not part of the cost. We source all of our steak locally and are proud to be one of the few... More

The Village Inn is kept very clean and we are constantly improving through re-painting and refurbishing. In the beginning of the new year we will be refurbishing the toilets, despite being completed less than 3 years ago. We keep on top of the cleaning on an almost obsessive manner. If there were sticky tables, I feel it is most likely... More

Three of us called into the Village In at Bowness last Saturday for lunch. When we arrived, there were two other tables occupied, so not busy. We ordered drinks which arrived very quickly and then ordered a main course each. These consisted of two burgers and a kebab. We waited over forty minutes for these dishes to arrive. When they... Dear Sir, I would like to assure you that we serve Coca-Cola, and not Pepsi. We would never serve any product, different to as advertised. This is from the post-mix gun, although small bottles of Coca-Cola are also available if this is preferable. The price of the post-mix Coca-Cola is in fact £1.75 for a half pint or £3.30 for...
