Fresh ingredients beautifully cooked.

Fresh and tasty beer battered fish. Hake on a bed of (not canned) chick peas with chorizo and fresh shrimp. Not your average pub food. A well designed wine list with a good range of wines available by the glass. Champagne in bottles or by the glass served in seriously elegant flutes. As a final... read more

Had lunch as a family, all adults. Great atmosphere and service. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food, I had the Duck Burger which was probably the best burger I have ever eaten!

As it was the last day of our mini we decided that as we were planning to go for a walk around Ambleside we would treat ourselves to a cooked English breakfast. We entered through the main bar which seemed dark and uninviting, however the furnishings looked pleasant. We could not see a member of staff to approach when we... More

my family visited for breakfast today, the food was well cooked, our children where welcomed and everyone enjoyed their yum breakfast. We where touched by the kindness of the young waiter who brought my 3 year old a free juice, because she was unsure of the ice cubes in her drink( he had noticed this whilst walking by) .We felt welcomed and catered... We dined on Thursday as part of a large group. The food was lovely, especially the fantastic hanging skewers. The service was good, the food was a little late to come but we were kept supplied with drinks! Great venue and centrally located in Bowness.

Visited this restaurant in July just wanting something relatively quickly. The food was good, the kebab looked great on the stand and was good to eat too. Liked the decor and the atmosphere was fun. They brought the wrong wine but replaced it straightaway with no arguments.

We visited this restaurant for a meal to celebrate my fiancée's birthday. We hadn't booked so had a little wait for a table - but not a problem as we got a drink and took a seat in the bar area. That was until we were rudely ushered out of an area as it had been reserved for a private... More
