After an afternoon drink here and watching the meals being served we asked if we could book a table for the evening to be told they couldn't take bookings for only 2 people but wouldn't be busy later , on our return later we were greeted with attitude when we asked for a table that 3 couples were in front,asked... On a birthday visit to Bowness, we stumbled across this little beaut of a place. The food (although we ordered Far too much) was amazing, fresh flavours and inspiring dishes and the cocktails were tasty too (pornstar martini is highly recommended on my part) Will come back when I come back to town without a doubt

Thank you, sarah a. We are very proud of the flowers and plants around the Village Inn, particularly now as spring is upon us and the flowers are in full bloom. I am sorry to hear that you found it too warm - we do like to ensure it is nice and cosy particularly in the miserable weather, but we... More

We found this, bar/ restaurant during our recent visit to the lakes. At first walking in the bar area is ultra modern, with nice comfortable seating area's with traditional games on the tables for visitors to play whilst they relax. We chose to eat in the main restaurant, the food was exceptional, not only great tasting, but portions where fantastic.... More

Thank you, Mike J. Dinner is even better when spread out over 2 days so it was great to see you for your main meals one day and for dessert the next (and a sneaky game of dominoes too!) I will pass all of your lovely comments on to the team about the food and service, as they all work... More

Had an excellent meal here, hanging kebab with chips, pitta bread and Asian coleslaw. There was so much didn't have room for anything else though the meringues looked magnificent. The restaurant had a really relaxed atmosphere even though constantly busy. Lots of eating space outside too. The house wine also went down a treat. Definitely worth a visit.

We went as a family of four. The menu was impressive and the food was excellent, including the delicious desserts. The service lets this place down! We were served by 4 different people, even though they were lovely, i don't think any communicated and therefore we had to ask for drinks, bill etc a few times. Would go again though... More

Had the ribs for a starter and fish and chips for main.ribs were tender and nicely cooked but not baby backs. Fish and chips excellent but oddly served in a box difficult to eat elegantly with knife and fork would be better on a plate but very nice anyway

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad to hear how much you enjoyed the flavour of the food. Our ribs are belly pork ribs. We do serve the fish and chips in a quirky frying basket, but are always more than happy to provide a plate on request. We hope to see you again soon. More
