Two Courses and a Glass of Wine

I went out late from my hotel and stopped at the Village Inn Bar & Grill. I ordered black pudding fritters which were nothing special to mention and the spaghetti bolognese which I think may have been frozen.

I went here for lunch, it has a lovely cosy atmosphere. Only had baguettes however these came with fries and was very filling. Plate was decorated with strawberries, while a nice touch but not needed. Had a relaxing lunch and drinks which was welcomed due to the wet and cold weather outside

There are some mixed reviews on here but our experience was definitely positive. We went as had read mainly good things and importantly for us they accept dogs (in the bar area). We weren't disappointed. The menu had a lot of choice - it's essentially good quality bar/pub grub - and we didn't have to wait too long for our... More

We arrived and were seated in front of a roaring fire which was lovely to watch but boiling hot. Our 5 year old is coeliac and we have always been able to order a meal for her while out so assumed - in a grill restaurant - we would at least be able to order grilled chicken. As it was... More

This place is amazing! We visit every time we go to the Lakes, either a baguette for lunch or evening meal we have no complaints at all. Everything is cooked to order, the portions are more than ample and we think good value for money. We always find the staff friendly, helpful and cheerful, which is a refreshing change. The... More

If you, like us are staying at a B and B nearby this is the perfect restaurant to go to for your evening meal. Candles on the tables, comfy chairs and just a lovely warm relaxing atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely food and reasonable prices. Will be returning next time when we are nearby!

Trendy place, nice surroundings. I had the hanging chicken kebab which was amazing. Staff were very helpful. They just need a refurb of the toilets to match the rest of the place!

Me and my partner visited the Village Inn twice on our break in Bowness, first just for a snack and drinks, and the second for a full meal. Both visits were superb. Our cocktails on the first visit were very well presented, although expensive (but cocktails are everywhere!) and were very enjoyable. I also ordered some snacks which came quickly... More

my partner and I arrived at the bar on a busy friday evening to be greeted by friendly bar staff. I had 3 cockatils off the menu and they were all delicious, we asked the bar staff if they was able to make cockatils that was not on the menu and they was more than happy to do this for... More
