Went here as a second option.....

Decided to go here as a second choice to the Village Inn after I walked out due to rude staff and being told they couldn't tell me when a table would become available. So glad I did because this place was really nice. Got seated instantly, had a drink served just as quick and was eating within 30... read more

Very prompt service - lovely & friendly staff, always polite and smiling. Food was excellent from start to finish. Only problem is we can't move because we've over eaten - must remember that our eyes are bigger than our bellies, but that doesn't reflect on their portion control x

Varied menu, we ate both lunch & dinner here during the course of our holiday. Fast service and all dinners were greeted and served by friendly staff. Mixture of family groups & couples present on both visits. Food well prepared and good sized portions. Value for money.

Visited the venue on a family outing to Bowness. This unassuming establishment doesn't stand out in relation to all the eateries within the district in terms of external decor, however it's an absolute delight. We were shown to our seats by a very attentive waitress and given a menu. We were asked a short time later if we wanted drinks... More

Popped in around 8 on a Wednesday night in early April. It was busy but not crowded. Waited about 50 minutes for starters. And about another hour for the mains. When I told the waitress it was taking too long, she said "It's all freshly made." "Fine," I said, "That's what I'd expect, but it's still taking too long." (I... More

First we found the ground floor restaurant was a bit smelly, perhaps a mix of deep fry oil and vinegar smell got imbibed in the carpet. To add a fly was disturbing us continuously. Fish and chips was very oily and the fish size was very small. Children fish and chips and chicken nuggets were very oily as well.. Overall... More

The good news: our waitress was really helpful, pleasant, and embarrassed by our experience. The bad: it's discouraging when more than one table arriving later gets served earlier. It's really annoying when staff are tied up talking to each other at length and repeatedly. When the food finally came, it was decent but it wasn't hot. There was a kind... More

I visited with my husband just after peak lunch time on a Sunday wanting a light bite to eat (we had already booked for a three course dinner at our hotel for that evening). Despite the restaurant not even half full, we had to wait to catch a waitresses eye to be seated. On requesting a window table, we were... More
