Just up the road from where we stayed, excellent food, just like I would have cooked. Pate to start, and the lamb was excellent

Visited midweek on Gourmet Society recommendation. Very quiet for a sunny early evening when Bowness centre was quite busy, but a very courteous welcome by an experienced and knowledgeable gentleman (probably the self same mentioned in "Anne311247"'s review) got the evening off to a positive start. We just missed out on the early evening special offer, so went "a la... More

Extensive menu choice, a relaxed atmosphere, helpful attentive staff, and value for money. We opted for the two courses for £9.95, both having Stilton & Broccoli Soup, then a pan fried salmon and a lamb roast, excellent all round.

The only thing that marred the wonderful food and the great service was the woman shouting loudly at staff in the kitchen. Probably affected the atmosphere a bit in contrast to the lovely music and decor of the restaurant. They did accept our Tastecard and we can highly recommend the roast. Wine list reasonably priced too.

We dropped in here on Friday evening for a drink on our way back from town. Its about halfway between Bowness and Windermere. We were served by a very friendly & helpful mature gentleman who really made us feel welcome. Because of this we booked a table for Sunday lunch. The Sunday lunch was delicious and the roast beef in... More

Great location situated on the road between bowness and Windermere but sadly wasn't very busy as guessing it's not in the main hustle & bustle of bowness many people would venture up here at night - they are missing out as food was lovely. Tasted good, well presented and cooked fresh - staff were genuinely very friendly & welcoming. They... More

Food was of a good standard. A good variety of options, all meals were enjoyed. Had a reasonable range of vegetation options, which were delicious! The staff were all really friendly and made you feel welcome. Had a nice atmosphere, had a variety of couples and families. Great location between Windermere and Barrowness.

Went for a few drinks on our walk in to Bowness. The lady who served us was called Michelle and was lovely and chatty and extremely friendly. It's a hidden gem this place ( always thought it was just a restaurant) and great for a quiet drink and also watching the footy!! Michelle makes this place.

The set up seemed to be a little strange ( Bar was more like a bunker , with little or no atmosphere ) the restaurant was also half empty , but we still had to wait 30 minutes for a table ! During our meal only 4 people came in , I can only imagine that they could only cope... More

My husband and I visited this restaurant for dinner, but would not go back. The starters were really nice, but the mains were a big disappointment. I had lamb with ginger mash and mint jus. The ginger was too overpowering, my lamb was well done although I'd asked for medium rare, and the gravy/jus was strong and overpowering too. My... More
