We dropped in here for an evening meal, the place was quite busy and a little noisy but there was a largish party there when we went in. Food was quite good but not outstanding but no complaints really - not much room downstairs.

My Partner and I ate at Mela Spice Fusion in September 2014, during a three day stay in Windamere. We found the restaurant earlier in the day from the signs around town, and decided to make a visit later that night. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a friendly member of staff, who took us upstairs... More

Our hosts from Lakeview Guesthouse suggested we try the Mela and what a good suggestion. The restaurant was very busy so we had to sit and wait for a table, but that wasn't a problem. Food was worth waiting for, everything was lovely, service was very good throughout and we will return next time we are in Bowness.

Delicious ROUND onion bhajis, not the flat rubbish and tasty sheek kebabs for starters. We shared chicken pathia, a bit hotter spicy wise than we're used to but chicken was perfect. Soft but crispy edged nan bread and a nice mixed veg rice. Could do with a Kingfisher or Cobra on draught but settled for the house red.

Not a bad restaurant. A tad on the expensive side and takeaways not great value for money. But all in all a nice environment and great service with good food

We had an early evening meal in Mela and the staff were very friendly and courteous. The food was excellent and the authentic Indian music creating a nice authentic feel. So many Indian restaurants these days play western music in the background and it spoils the ambiance somewhat. If your in Bowness and your looking for good food at a... More

me and my partner ate here on a Tuesday night, we arrived at around 20.00 and were told upstairs was full so would we mind sitting downstairs. This was not a problem, however laster on it was noted that another couple who had not booked were taken directly up stairs in the table we were told was not available (he... More

The Restaurant's upstairs, in the centre of Bowness & a little small, so i'd recommend booking for peak times. But the food was excellent. The Best Indian i & our friends have had. Really good value for money too. Highly recommended.

We've been here many times and always found the food and service to be excellent. It can get very busy though and when it does, some of the lesser used tables are used and they can be a tight fit. Overall, well worth a visit.
