We had passed this place a couple of times, but it was always busy and we hadn't realised there was a downstairs as well. we asked for a table for two and instantly we're seated and attended too. The ambience as you walked in was special. We booked for Friday night before we had even placed our order as we... More

Most important the food was brilliant the service was superb. Made very welcome and just of the beaten track so managed to get a table. The food came in good time even though the place was full. Very children friendly but not crayons and colouring books they had good food too. All plates were cleaned great night.

Had a fine dinner here at busy and atmospheric Jackson's and was well looked after by the patron, who is a cheerful, friendly and efficient man who puts people at ease. I would have given the restaurant an excellent rating but for a really pretty poor dessert - a bread and butter pudding that was far too over-cooked and therefore... More

We'd just arrived in Bowness after a long journey and Jackson's was the first restaurant we happened upon and we're glad we did. A large and varied menu, it was difficult to decide what to choose it all looked so yummy! The manager was friendly and super efficient, running a very tight ship. He'd been there for 20 years so... We went to JB last Saturday and had a nice early evening dinner. The waiter was attentive and with a nice smile, the food and wines were good, too. The only area to improvement would be to make sure health and safety rules are met in the kitchen - my brother has found a piece of porcelain inside of his... More

This was by far the best meal out we have had in a long time. We had the 3 course set menu at £16.95 updated by £3 to include rump steak. We had the stuffed mushrooms & cajun chicken pancake to start. Excellent rump steaks for mains cooked to our perfection and then a honeycomb & caramel cheesecake for sweet.... More

Ate here last night, by 19:30 the restaurant was full so glad we had booked a table. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was superb, and only slightly more expensive than expected. The only downside is the front is all glazed so you feel to be eating in a gold fish bowl, but I suppose that... More

The food was okay as was the service but yet again we found the prices over the top for the food and service we received. The ambience was not great and it was not very warm

We have just had the set 3 course dinner and it was one of the best meals we have had on this trip to the UK. The stuffed mushrooms were piping hot and smothered in a delicious cheese sauce, I then had the 'chicken bolognese'..a delicious chicken breast with Bolognese sauce and served with beautifully cooked vegetables. My husband had... More
