We found that this bistro was recommended on the guestbook in our hotel. So, after searching around for our dinner, we would like to give it a try. Generally speaking, the food was good. We had a steal and a black pudding casserole (the black pudding casserole might not be very acceptable for everyone as its flavor was a bit... More

First and last visit, waited over 1 hour for starter and was very disappointed with the chicken wings and how it looked, went downhill after this main was very un pleasing to the eye shoved on a plate more like a appetiser not a main and wasn't nice would never go again, felt sorry for the waiting staff as they... I have recently been to Jackson's bistro, my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Great food good service and definitely one of the better places in Bowness to eat without a shadow of a doubt.

Four of us visited after recommendation. We were warned when we arrived that there could be delay because they were dealing with a "party". We were shown to our table at 7:05 for a 7:15 booking and the drinks arrived relatively quickly but the starters ordered did not arrive until 8:05, rather too long despite the warning! Two of the... Excellent meal, came here on the back of the reviews, wife had the T bone special, I had the rump steak, both cooked to perfection. Very highly recommend, give it a try, superb meal. The previous one star review was delusional, must have been in a different place. Paul & Tracey

Well what a marvelous restaurant this is! Not on a "main" street in Bowness but very accessible. I took my girlfriend here on a extremely busy weekend after reading some exciting reviews on Tripadvisor. From the moment we walked in it was such a lovely evening, from the attentive staff and host to the delicious meals and champagne. Its safe... More

Ate at Jackson's on the last night of a 3 night stay in Bowness after reading reports on here. Arrived around 7.40 and although we hadn't booked they found us a table. We were lucky as a number of people who arrived only 10 minutes later were turned away. We shared garlic bread then I had the sea bass and... More

When in Bowness, we always try to secure a table in what must be the best restaurant in lake land, the proprietor and his very efficient staff can't do enough for their customers, the varied menu provides for all tastes, and the decor and atmosphere are very calming , would highly recommend .

Ate here 2 nights in Bowness. Very centrally located. Ate on lower floor and also upper floor. Tables are located tightly on the upper floor but good ambience. Menu was varied with blackboard specials. 2 or 3 course option was better value than a la carte. Staff attentive and good service. Wine a little poor for the price.
