Pleasant food, fun vibe

We had the three course set menu and thought it good value. The chocolate brownie was fantastic. Service got a bit slow when they were busy but was always professional and friendly. Nice decor. Much more contemporary offering than most of the other places we saw and considered in Bowness.

If you like your steak blue - this is the place! Good choice of other meals and an extensive and reasonably prices wine list.

This was our second visit to Jacksons, after originally visiting in February. We found Andrew to be just as welcoming as he had been on our first visit, the atmosphere was just as wonderful and the food and wine a delight! Anyone who visits should try one of his more 'original' dishes on the menu, it's worth the journey just... More

The staff, the service and the food were all of an excellent standard. My wife and I called in while staying in Windermere and recommended by the host of our B&B. We both began with the scallops and could not fault the quality and the taste was remarkable. For the main we both opted for the fillet steak, rare with... More

The food was good and filling, which is just what you need after a days walking. The childrens food was particularly good quality, and the children (aged 10 & 9) also enjoyed having a wider, more interesting, menu than usual. The restaurant is right in the middle of Bowness-on -Windermere so very convenient to reach from the jetty or your... More

Came here to celebrate two Birthday's, food was excellent and the staff were amazing. I would defiantly recommend this restaurant. We booked a table a good few weeks before as this was recommended as it is often booked up. Glad we did this.

Ate here on our first night in the Lake District and we are so glad we did. There was plenty of choice in the menu, including veggie dishes, and the menu wasn't predictable or boring. The wine menu was also great and the staff, who were very friendly, knew their stuff. From the bread and olives, the lamb Henry and... More

We hadn't found good fish here until we saw this menu. The restaurant is very unassuming outside and seems to undersell itself. Inside, it's a different story. You really need to book, and you're met with excellent service and some imaginative dishes. The crab starter, followed by chicken for my wife and salmon for me, left us with no room... More
