We happened upon this restaurant after having refused a table in another that was too early. The owner moved around his bookings to accomodate our family of 6 plus a 2 year old and we were placed on a table downstairs where there is a fabulous range cooker. We didn't bother with starters but the breads and oil/vinegar was delightful... More

Me and my wife ate at Jackson's Bistro last night , and I can honestly say , it was probably one of the best meals I've had ( and we've had a few in our time) . We will be returning to Jackson's Bistro , when we return to Windermere in the future . We highly recommend this restaurant .

Went here for husbands 60th birthday and the food did not disappoint - plenty of choice and everything looked excellent as it emerged from the kitchen ( we had a good vantage point!). As the evening wore on we realised that we were lucky to have got in without a reservation as a constant stream of customers tripped through the... More

Fully enjoyed the food and wine. Chicken breast sauce was to die for and the duck confit was extraordinary . Recommend the stuff mushrooms and the apple and blackberry crumble

Looked at the menu whilst walking back to our hotel and it was more appealing than many we'd seen earlier in the day. My husband had the duck, some of which was cold. However the staff quickly addressed the problem and offered a free drink by way of apology. At the right temperature, it was delicious as was the cod... More

This is the best place in bowness, after eating here a few times now, it gets better and better. The staff and the owner are very professional and make you feel really welcome. It has to be the best steak we have eaten and cooked to perfection. the chicken liver to start with was spot on also. All washed down... More

Very friendly staff with an excellent menu choice. Reasonably priced for the area. Food is divine. Have full menu and also two courses or three course menu for a set price. Portions are generous, so though we were hoping to have a dessert it wasn't possible given our main course choices!! Would most definetly return next time we are in... More

We came here 12 years ago but in the Spring and had a fabulous, memorable meal. It was my wife's birthday and I had taken her to Bowness for a surprise treat at The Old England (also excellent). I decided that we have a trip down memory lane and eat at Jackson's. As it was a special occasion, you want... More
