So good, we returned 2 days later

On holiday in the Lake district. Found this restaurant on trip adviser. We had the 3 course menu at £17.95. The food was excellent and there was a good choice. As we left, another couple were booking, again, for the following night. We were so impressed we returned 2 day later with friends. It was... read more

I think the title says it all really! Just has a lovely family meal at postilion with everything being recommended, from the lovely waiter and waitress , to the gorgeous olives ( I bought two jars for home) excellent mains and top rated sweets I can't rate it highly enough, have been once before and will definitely go back

I ate here on a Friday night. Myself and 3 others were kindly squeezed in to the very small downstairs room without a booking. The food was really quite nice but the menu was very strange - I have never seen a menu with so many rules! Telling us how we could and could not pay, what sides we could... More

My wife and I and sometimes family and friends have visited this restaurant many times over the last few years. We have tried many others in the village but this is without doubt the best. The food, service and atmosphere are always absolutely excellent. David and all the staff always make us feel special.

Fabulously cooked and presented food. The 3 courses for the 3 of us are all highly recommended. Highlights were possibly the main course lamb and the gingerbread crime brûlée. Very attentive service. Lovely comfortable atmosphere. Restaurant designed well with quirky toilets where you had to go through a 'bookcase' door! Will return when we are next in the Lakes.

We had a most enjoyable meal at Postillion this week. Everything was delicious, especially the fillet steak which was cooked just right and the friendly service provided by Beth was very welcome.

We came here a few weeks ago and were truly blown away by the standard of food for the price. The menu is incredibly varied and creative with a good balance of 'staple dishes' and more out there combinations and caters for everyone. The set menu is affordable even on a Saturday when it is higher and the quality of the... We have become regulars here, as have our friends who we recommended. The food is of an excellent quality and good value for money, particularly if you go early as they have a discounted price before 7 p.m. The service is excellent and if you have any special requests or comments they are quick to act on them. My wife... More

For our last night in the lakes we decided to visit Postilion based on Trip Advisor feedback and reviews which were spot on. We have a lovely meal served with a smile by the manager. Food was fantastic and from the starters of poached pear, Hake to Duck Confit, Lamb and Fish it was excellent. Great value for the early... More

We had the pleasure to eat here on Saturday night..the food was absolutely stunning. It is difficult to pull out any highlights as it was all of the very best standard. However worthy of mention are their own marinated olives, the pork belly and the Gingerbread creme brûlée.... The wines and service accompanied the food perfectly and both were just... More
