Whilst being here on holiday chose the sutherland as it looked delightful from the front. The lady working front of house was pleasant but disappointingly placed all 5 of us on a tiny round table in a bay window, even though there were plenty of free bigger tables. We think they may have sat us there because you could see... More

After a 12 mile walk we called in at Sutherland restaurant for food & refreshments. Stunning food & wine. The service was brilliant & nothing was too much trouble. On our next visit to bowness we will defo dine here

We have visited this restaurant before and had lovely meal. Not this time unfortunately. It was my husbands birthday and he loves a Sunday roast. I had the lamb my husband and son had the turkey. The vegetables were microwaved burning hot and soggy. Plates swimming in watery gravey. Burnt hard roast potatoes. Poor quality tasteless meat. Worst dinner I... More

Came here with my husband for my birthday meal. The waitress was lovely but the food was very bland and lacking any flavour! The restaurant is also in need of a lick of paint. We probably wouldn't return.

We ate here on a busy New Years Eve. Food was good and very reasonably priced. Staff were very welcoming. Decor is a bit tired and needs updating - but overall a nice meal

We have eaten here every time we visit the lakes and are never dissapointed. The food is always very hot, delicious and in large portions. We have had very good lasagnes, meat pies and roasts dinners here. It is also reasonably priced, the staff are very nice and the atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely- especially with the fire burning.... More

Meals inedible, gone way over the top with pepper, really poor response from staff, I've been going to this pub for years time to give it a miss.

We visited on a wet January day with our dog. We were welcomed in and warmed up in front of the open fire of this rustic pub. Staff were very friendly, even bringing water for our dog. Don't be put off by the dates decor. Food was surprisingly good, mainly homemade and a lot of care was given to the... More

We had dinner here on a Saturday night at about 6pm. We were the first ones in there and we served quick. Other couples and groups come in within 15 minutes of us being there. The service was very good. The food was lovely. All reasonable priced. We walked into some other restaurants but they were busy and smokey. This... More
