Nice food and good atmosphere

Friendly staff and great service. Wait for food was a tad too long in my opinion but nothing to worry about. The fish and chips was humongous but delicious. Would definitely recommend.

We met up with Rose and Eddie at the Scotts Arms in Sicklinghall. It is a lovely old 17th Century Pub with low beamed ceilings. The menu is great and we had a superb Fish and Chips lunch. Carol, my wife asked for extra Tartar Sauce and received a huge jug of it.

Met some old school friends here, nice surroundings, chance to chat. Food was really good, I had shredded duck ciabatta, others had scampi, pie, curry, brie and bacon. All said they enjoyed it. Staff were there if you wanted them, but not intrusive- ideal. Will return.

If I based this review on the food alone then the pub would easily gets five stars. The presentation of the meals is excellent and all is freshly made. We had a starter of mackerel which was nice but the main course of locally sourced sausages was one of the best meals I've tasted in a long time. This is... More

We came here on the recommendation of a friend. We actually live in Cornwall but were working in the area; our friend used to live up here but we got to know him when he moved to Cornwall. When he heard where we would be working he recommended this pub for lunch. We are glad that he did because it... More

I went with a friend for a meal. The pub was very busy but we managed to get s table. We had a lovely meal and bottle of wine. It is a bit pricey especially the wine but we enjoyed it and would go again. The landlord was very friendly and the staff were efficient.

We went to the Scotts Arms on a Sunday in March. The service was bad, very bad. We had to wait for an hour for lunch. When the food finally arrived, it was good. The service was not.

Probably our favorite local pub. The food, beer and service are always good and the room is cosy and welcoming.
