We had a fantastic time the first time we came in February so on the back of that we booked to have Sunday roast to celebrate birthday and Mother's Day. However it didn't live up to expectations. The food was average, not what I expected for somewhere that claims to do fine dining. I ordered the pork dish mainly for... More

We were staying at the hotel and managed to mix and match between the fixed price menu and the a la carte without any problem. The starters on the main menu were £16 to £22 which means that your allowance of £37 from the fixed price menu doesn't go far! Despite the "How much???" prices we thoroughly enjoyed our meals.... Just got to be best food in the area! The Georgian has a real feeling of nothing too much trouble - service is on a par with the likes of Claridges. Go you wont be disappointed

Enjoyed Elevenses (a savoury version of afternoon tea) at Wood Hall Hotel very much. The food was plentiful and excellent, and was served by attentive and friendly staff. Will definitely be back.

Service charming and efficient. Wine list extensive and impressive~ but should have included the wines on the general bar list. Quality of food very good. Starters of house salad excellent:fish good: amuse bouche very good and nice surprise; cheeese platter very good. Not best steak I ever had but reasonable. All restaurants need to abandon 'stack' of square chips style... More

This is an elegant dining room in one of Yorkshire's most beautiful settings. The tables are well appointed and the senior waiter, a young man from Stuttgart, does the restaurant credit. My £37 set-price dinner started with a trio of home-made breads and an amuse-bouche, which were excellent. But the gravadlax starter, which was brilliantly presented in a sort of... More

We didn't stay at the hotel but had booked a private room from 7pm to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday. Once in the room, we were given a glass of champagne (pre-arranged by one of my brothers) and then left to look at the set menu which had three choices for the three courses. We had to choose the dessert... More
