Beware of the Rock Hotel. Kitchen has employed unqualified people to work therein including some without Basic Food Hygiene certificate. Recently the cabbage on the carvery had been badly overcooked and should never have been served - however it clearly was. We were staying in a B/B just up the road so decided to have an evening meal here. Pub was fairly quiet. we decided on our meals which arrived quickly, big portions!! Everything you would expect from an out of town pub. My bitter was a bit cloudy, so asked for a replacement which was changed immediately.

We have visited The Rock previously but always just for drinks. On Friday 15th August we thought we would try the food and opted for the 2x fish and chips for £10 deal. It duly arrived indicating cooked to order, was beautifully presented, a generous portion and friendly service too! Although stuffed we treated ourselves to pudding too. Unusual for... More

Come here regularly for the wonderful Sunday carvery. Choice of 2 meats and loads of different veg all piping hot and delicious. I not yet had pudding as always too full. Really friendly staff always making you feel welcome. Best Roast in Weymouth by far. Well done Ian and the staff.
